    Casey Schmitt had gone hitless in his first 12 plate appearances of 2024, but he sure picked a good time to collect hit No. 1. With two outs and two on in a tie game in the bottom of the 10th, Schmitt delivered a clutch walk-off ground-rule double that gave the San Francisco Giants a much-needed win (and series win—their second straight) against the Cincinnati Reds. Kyle Harrison got the start and gutted out five innings with three runs allowed, solid considered he walked five and hit a batter.But the SF Giants' injury woes continued in a major way, with Jung Hoo Lee suffering a shoulder separation in the top of the first on a leaping effort at the wall. Lee has been a strong defender who's consistently squared the ball up all season for the Giants. He's hit into back luck and was just coming back from a sore foot after fouling a ball off of it in Denver. The Giants have lost seven players to the injured list in the last week, including key contributors such as Lee, Jorge Soler, Michael Conforto, Patrick Bailey.There was some positive injury news, however. Blake Snell made a rehab start for Single-A San Jose and struck out seven over four perfect innings. He threw an immaculate inning in the first and struck out seven of the first eight hitters he faced. Right now the Giants have Logan Webb, Jordan Hicks, Kyle Harrison, Keaton Winn, and Mason Black in their rotation.     Sweeping a team isn't easy, especially on the road and in Denver, but it would've gone a long way for the San Francisco Giants, who entered their series against the Rockies in the midst of a 1-6 road trip. The Giants leave Colorado having won two out of three, but they missed a chance to sweep in the finale. Instead of a 4-6 trip, the SF Giants come home having gone 3-7. Nevertheless, it was important to win the series and the SF Giants got that done. They have to start playing better baseball overall, and that was on display in the first two games against the Rockies. Kyle Harrison was brilliant in the first game, and Jordan Hicks and the Giants' offense got things done in Game 2. Keaton Winn continued his recent stretch of struggles in Thursday's loss, putting further pressure on Blake Snell to return. Per Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle, Snell will throw a bullpen session Thursday and begin a rehab assignment at Single-A San Jose on Sunday.
