  • STEAL OF THE 2025 DRAFT: 3rd Round Pick Gavin Turley Could Be That Dude
    Jul 15 2025

The A’s may have just pulled off the biggest upside swing of the 2025 MLB Draft—and they didn’t do it in the first round. They did it in the third, when they grabbed Oregon State outfielder Gavin Turley, one of the most explosive, toolsy, and athletic players in the entire class. In today’s episode, we break down Turley’s elite bat speed, raw power, defensive versatility, and why his development could shape the A’s outfield for years to come. He’s got 20/20 potential, a cannon arm, and highlight-reel athleticism—but the swing-and-miss concerns are real. We’re talking ceiling, comps, red flags, and what makes this pick both thrilling and terrifying.

Big swings, big arms, and even bigger questions. The A’s went hunting for upside in the 2025 draft—and they might’ve found it in a twitchy outfielder, a command-first righty, a slider-happy lefty, and a power bat with something to prove. Who are these guys? What do they bring to the table? And who do they remind us of at the big league level? Let’s scout the future of green and gold—because these names matter.

  • MELTDOWN: Sully and Booney CLASH over A’s Finances
    Jul 15 2025

On today’s fiery crossover episode of Locked On A’s and Locked On MLB, Booney and Sully bring the heat in a no-holds-barred debate that covers everything from the A’s misunderstood legacy to the brutal reality of baseball's changing landscape. Sully kicks things off with his signature blend of humor and historical context, breaking down why he loves chaos in baseball—whether it’s an inside-the-park home run or a three-team playoff mess. He shares his evolution from die-hard Red Sox fan to a champion of good baseball across the league, and reminisces about generational World Series moments that define the soul of the sport.

But it doesn’t take long before things shift toward the green and gold—and that’s when the gloves come off. Booney defends the A’s history, highlighting how the franchise ranks seventh in MLB postseason appearances since 2000, despite a reputation as a perennial loser. Then the discussion explodes into a full-throttle verbal cage match over the Las Vegas stadium project and John Fisher’s finances. Booney presents a case for the money being real and the project being on track, while Sully calls BS, demanding receipts and laughing off the claims as "sandbox theater." The clash is passionate, hilarious, and brutally honest—exactly the kind of baseball talk fans deserve. If you’ve ever argued about the A’s, their past, or where the hell this team is going, this episode is your therapy session.

  • A'S SELECT ARNOLD: A's Take Series Against Jays
    Jul 14 2025

The A’s kicked off their festive week by snagging Florida State lefty Jamie Arnold with the No. 11 overall pick in the MLB Draft. Arnold, a former high-strikeout phenom turned Friday-night anchor, posted a sterling 2.98 ERA over 15 starts this spring, netting 119 punchouts and earning First‑Team All‑ACC and All‑American honors. His fastball, sitting in the mid‑90s and touching 97 mph, marries pinpoint control and a slinky sweep-slider—archetypal traits of a true ace in the making .

That momentum carried right into West Sacramento, where the A’s closed out their pre–All‑Star break series by taking down the Blue Jays 6–3 at Sutter Health Park. Jeffrey Springs delivered 6⅔ solid innings, while Tyler Soderstrom, Nick Kurtz and Austin Wynns all went deep for multi-run homers. The win marked their first series finale shutout of the break, poking a dent in Toronto’s form and sending Sacramento into pause mode with a serious swag.
