    जैन धर्मियांच्या संथारा व्रत अथवा सल्लेखना वर बंदी घालण्याच्या जयपूर उच्च न्यायालयाच्या २०१५च्या निर्णयाला सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने स्थगिती दिली होती. याच संथारा किंवा सल्लेखना याची माहिती आणि महती सांगणारा हा लेख लिहिला आहे डॅा कल्याण गंगवाल यांनी. ते म्हणतात, वस्तुतः संथारा ही आत्महत्या नसून तो देहत्याग आहे. तो मृत्युमोहोत्सव आहे. हे व्रत म्हणजे परमसाधना आहे वैराग्य आहे व तृप्त जीवन जगण्याचे समाधान आहे व शेवटी आपला मृत्यू कसा असावा याबद्दलचे चिंतन आहे.
