 In October 2020 women from around the world were gathered together and over 40 signed up to write a letter to their younger soul. In these letters, they shared their thoughts and feelings on matters such as mental health, sex, careers and physical health. Filled with heartwarming writings of encouragement, triumph, empathy and self-acceptance from women in places like India, Brazil, Canada, USA, France, Africa, the UK and more, the following October 2021 saw the launch of the book. As women, we love to talk, so a podcast seemed a natural step, so we’re continuing the conversation with authors in the book and special guests who share intimate thoughts about life then and now.     Velma is a former Social Worker turned Holistic Health Consultant and Holistic Health Consultant Director at Natures Pure Love and she holds a BSc. in Health and Social Science.  As a consultant, she creates holistic health plans and coaching programmes that support and improve the growth and performance of aspiring individuals, professional leaders and executives.  She spends her life empowering people to manage and improve their health, wealth and well-being.  In addition she is a co-author in the book Letters To My Younger Soul.


    In this episode, join the conversation as we discuss how Velma overcame racism from her class teachers, who said she swung in trees and would amount to nothing.  How she turned around her daughter's terminal illness after doctors had said there was nothing more they could do, and how her past forged her path into several community initiatives battling race divides and into a successful health business that holistically treats some of the more challenging health issues we deal with. Also, why her two favourite books are the Holy Bible and Barbara Taylor Bradford novels.

    Siam Hurlock Noel is a former touring artist.  She's a Reggae, Gospel, Jazz singer/songwriter, as well as a London-based actress. After hanging up her touring shoes, Siam retrained as a therapist and still continues to stay connected to the arts as a worship leader at a church, where she is also a pastor, and as a spoken word poet, and an author.  Her message is one to inspire people to self love with truth, and being their best self for a healthier and wealthier mind. 

    In this episode, we talk identity, trauma and self-worth from the therapists perspective, and how she almost lost her children, the pivotal moment that came from a sinking boat and realising life too was sinking fast.
