About this listen

What happens when you're the threat to your own survival. Making ourselves a priority by addressing the threats that come from within starts the conversation. A podcast focused on caring and improving the lives for those that give of themselves when there is nothing left to give. Although the program is primarily centered around the first responder, the life lessons and struggles are universal in nature. The program addresses and looks to improve the lives of first responders by addressing our personal, professional, financial, physical and mental health. Historically difficult conversations to have are normalized and stigmas associated with asking for help are removed.© 2025 Law Enforcement Life Coach / Sometimes Heroes Need Help Podcast Hygiene & Healthy Living Psychology Psychology & Mental Health

  • Brigadier General / High School Bud / Joe Reale / Leading from the Heart
    May 19 2025

A week filled with reflection, appreciation, and gratitude. After 40 years, I had the absolute pleasure to sit down with an old high school buddy, United States Army Brigadier General, Joe Reale. Joe and I talked about the good old days, friendship, and the impact we have had on others during this journey called life. We discussed his humble beginnings a private in the "Old Guard", to his leadership during the refugee mission in Kandahar as a Brigadier General, and everything in between. Joe allowed himself to be vulnerable, sharing with me that for the entirety of his time in the military his focus was on taking care of others, and unfortunately he did that that the expense of taking care of himself. Sit back, and give this episode a listen. 40 years have gone by in the blink of an eye, oh what a ride it's been.

  • Angela Graham / Former Firefighter / Founder of The S.I.R.E.N. Project / Helping First Responders Heal Through the Use of Psychedelic Medicines
    Apr 21 2025

Wow, this week I had the privilege of sitting down with former firefighter and founder of the S.I.R.E.N. Project , Angela Graham. The S.I.R.E.N Project is an initiative that looks to help first responders and veterans heal from past trauma through the use of psychedelic medicines. We dove deep into everything that this modality is, and just as important, everything that it is not. I learned soo much from my brief time with Angela. My biggest takeaway, there is always something you can do to better your situation, always. The one caveat to this, it's got to be YOU that takes action and is intentional on how you want to live your life! Grab a pen and paper, sit back, reflect, take notes, and if you or someone you love is struggling, share this episode with them and put them in touch with Angela, or don't , the choice is yours.
