But why would anyone kill a retired English teacher, a pillar of his community? Perhaps the answer lies in the trail of writing that he, and his killer, left behind: diaries, poems and novels.

Documentary maker Gillian Pachter lifts the lace curtain to reveal a secret wedding, sordid affairs, drug abuse and psychological torture. Compelling all the way

Gillian tells Peter’s story (one that proves truth CAN be stranger than fiction) in a respectful way that feels like a redemption ode to the victim. I loved how comprehensive her research was and how she involved many of the people involved in the storytelling. Totally compelling listening.
