• The Greatest Hope We Have
    May 20 2024

‘Jesus Christ is coming again!’ This is the resounding message of the book of Thessalonians – and the reason why ‘hope springs eternal’.

This is not a wistful wishing for an unlikely or improbable future. Hope is heart reality anchored to the rock of God’s Word.

Think about it… we have a living hope! Jesus Christ is alive and gives life! And His second coming is the great hope of every Christian.

Encourage one another with these words and turn to 1 Thessalonians 4 for more about The Greatest Hope We Have.

  • What Every Mother Wants
    May 13 2024

The older I get, the more I realize how little I knew when I knew it all.

Even in my pride, my mother’s example and wisdom continually guided me to make better choices and brought me closer to God. Kids will be blessed by their parents’ wise choices – and bent toward their parents’ bad choices.

Some facets of God’s design for women can apply for us all. Even the apostle Paul said, “I was like a nursing mother, taking care of her own children,” as he focused on the needs of the churches in a very personal way.

Take time this Mother’s Day weekend to open your Bible and your heart to God’s Word for you in 1 Thessalonians 4.

  • Hope Springs From Clarity About Purity
    May 6 2024

While the world abandons morality, questions truth, and redefines goodness, God has an unchanging path of truth and righteousness for us to follow.

God’s will is not a secret blueprint for minute decisions He is hiding, but rather a revealed blueprint for wise decisions – and it’s called the Bible.

God calls us to walk a path of righteousness, to reject our lustful desires, and to avoid the dark alleys of this world. If you are increasingly the person God wants you to be, right choices will follow.

Spend some time in worship before the Lord and get ready to jump into 1 Thessalonians for this clear teaching…

In relational uncertainty, love protects hope by focusing on what matters most.

Where hope is kept alive, know this: someone is always sacrificing. And most often, it’s Jesus Christ through one of His followers.

Remember, hope is the confident expectation of better days ahead.

You have to die if you want to live. You will never experience new life in Christ unless you first experience a death to your sin. This is the Easter Principle.

As we celebrate Easter and reflect on Christ’s death and resurrection, Pastor James reminds us of the purpose of the sacrifice Jesus made for us.

Get ready to dig into Romans 8 – and watch this special greeting from our Act Like Men leaders.
