Insurrection

By: Robert Clark
  • Summary

  • Insurrection is the biweekly podcast that explores the vast history of violent acts of rebellion against the government since its inception as the United States of America. Each episode delves into the settings, details, and consequences of an insurrection. Insurrections may be driven by an unresponsive government, failed promises, labor abuses, political nullification, and/or America’s Original Sin: slavery. These rebellious events are not rare, but are common enough that the history of Insurrection is a microcosm of the history of the United States.

    Jun 2 2023
Today’s topic is The Pennsylvania Mutiny, the 1st insurrection against the newly independent USA, and the 1st insurrection against Congress. That’s right, the attack on the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 was not the first insurrection against congress, although it was certainly the most recent. The Pennsylvania Mutiny was an attack on the Continental Congress, and actually forced Congress to leave town.
