About this listen
I love my Dad, to the moon and back
Shines as a glittering smile on other men.
Shaking their flowers in bright and happy showers,
Making the young mind smile at every stream;
While the soft breezes just breaking in their shower,
Shaking the links into their chaplets like water,
Over the threshold of their meditative rest,
Making the dew of the dawn upon the grasses—
Every breath of the breath of my ecstasy!
I steal an hour to that mysterious sound,
But my spirit is in that mysterious sphere,
Because the little earth might cast unto its air,
Although it shall open its light and its smile,
Every dream that the soul will renew its woe.
Perhaps that the pure spirit might gather a dream,
Whether like gathered into a glorious sleep,
Unless their earth will held a mysterious dream.
Sometimes on a grassy waste the timid maiden,
Trailing mute on the little little little way,
Ascends the mimic sky, the solitary bird.
Softly the quiet smile, the twinkling light,
Lost in its vast brooding shadow amid the night.
We raise the sudden crimson room with true beauty,
Suspends his modest blossom in its rosy beam.
Behold, a rosy morning bright and beautiful.
