  • S01 - Episode 13 - The Lady of the Stairs by LJ Aldon
    Dec 12 2025
“The famous one is the Lady of the Stairs. Around the late 1400s, there was a woman who was a mistress of one of my ancestor’s lairds. His vengeful wife locked her up in one of the castle turrets, where she perished from not eating. Some psychics have seen her. She walks the stairways at night.” “That’s a lie,” a voice hissed in Pucci’s ear—warm breath prickled her cheek...

Hello and welcome, dear listeners, to Haunted UK Fiction – a sister podcast to The Haunted UK which features original flash fiction, short stories, and novellas with paranormal themes. All stories you will hear were written by a collection of talented writers, authors, and storytellers, both independent and professional.

In today’s episode we’ll be reading The Lady of the Stairs which was sent in to us by LJ Aldon. Lisa Aldon, writing as L.J Aldon, is the author of Riddle of the Jeweled Cipher and the International Semi-Finalist Award winner, Riddle of the Haunted Hoard, the two published novels in the Pucci (POO-tchee) Riddle Mystery series. She currently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA where she also works as an engineer and consciousness leadership consultant. Her passions are helping the planet evolve, her family and her dog. Her influences are Agatha Christie, Ellery Queen, Laurie R. King, Katherine Kurtz, Deborah Turner Harris, and Dan Brown. She also loves helping earth bound spirits cross over and has had many "evidence based" encounters. Some of the encounters of ghosts in this story are true… but you’ll have to guess which ones.

  • S01 - Episode 11 - The Hollow Rooms Part 1 by Ian Harris
    Dec 10 2025
The Hollow Rooms stood on the crest of the mountain like a black crown…. A long drive curved up through wrought iron gates, their bars twisted into the shapes of roses and thorns. The two figures who had been waiting were staff members—a man in a black suit with a gold watch chain, and a woman in a gray dress buttoned high to her neck. Both were pale in a way that spoke of years indoors, but there was something else, too: a stillness in their faces, as though their smiles had been painted on and dried there. “Welcome to the Hollow Rooms,” the man said, bowing slightly. His voice was low and smooth, like polished wood. “You must be the Morgan family. We’ve been expecting you…”
