`மியாவ்' என மழலைக் குரலெழுப்பும் தன் குட்டியை வாயில் லாகவமாகக் கவ்விக்கொண்டு தாய்ப்பூனை நடந்து செல்லும்போது சிலர் அதன் தாய்மைப்பண்பை ரசிப்பார்கள். இன்னும் சிலரோ, ‘ஐயோ, பூனை குறுக்கே போய்விட்டதே' என்று பதறுவார்கள். ஒரு செயலைச் செய்வதற்கு முன்பாக சகுனம் பார்க்கும் பழக்கம் இன்றும் பலரிடம் இருக்கிறது. நல்ல நேரம் பார்த்தே செயலைத் தொடங்குவார்கள். அப்படிச் செய்தால் அது வெற்றியாகும் என்பது அவர்களின் நம்பிக்கை.
என்னிடம் பலர், ‘‘குருஜி, சகுனம் பார்ப்பது சரியா, தவறா? ஒரு செயலைத் தொடங்கும்முன் சகுனம் பார்க்க வேண்டுமா?'' என்று கேட்பார்கள். முதலில் சகுனம் என்றால் என்ன என்று புரிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும். இயற்கையில் இரண்டு விஷயங்கள் உள்ளன. ஒன்று நம் தனிப்பட்ட விருப்பம், மற்றொன்று பிரபஞ்ச சக்தி.
