    EPISODE 57 | The podcasters, MLB commentators and critics of Devers are falling flat on explaining why they disagree with Devers for not wanting to play 1st base! The narrative put out there is essentially Devers is a big ego maniac and scared to play another position. I unfortunately have to blame the translator for why this narrative is out there. Devers essentially is trying to say, he doesn’t believe he’s a type of player that can easily adapt to a new position. Translator doesn’t even remotely relay that message. Plus the body language of Devers was easy going. His words were delivered ok but this translator came out so serious. Devers understands he’s not a Mookie Betts. That’s tough as hell to move around. Granted I understand maybe physically 1st base is an easy move to go to from a position like 3rd base. Ken Rosenthall is only one in our opinion that explained this situation very well. Giving Devers some grace but the whole point is the MESSAGING could have landed better.
