In this episode, we read 2 Samuel chapters 4–7. David’s kingship grows stronger as the rival house of Saul collapses, and he is anointed king over all Israel. Soon after, David is anointed king over Judah. Through it all, we see God’s hand guiding David’s rise as the rightful king. These chapters remind us of the importance of honoring others, even in hardship, and trusting God’s timing as His plans unfold.

In this episode, we read 1 Samuel chapters 30–31. While living among the Philistines, David faces a devastating crisis as his city of Ziklag is raided and his people are taken captive. Through prayer and God’s guidance, David pursues the enemy and recovers everything, showing the Lord’s faithfulness in his trials. Meanwhile, Saul faces his final battle against the Philistines on Mount Gilboa, where he and his sons, including Jonathan, fall in defeat. These closing chapters mark both David’s rise and Saul’s tragic end, reminding us of God’s justice, mercy, and sovereignty over Israel’s future.
