About this listen
This is a metal guitar podcast! For many of us, hearing our favorite riffs is not enough! We need to feel them as well! Playing the riffs that speak to us and give us that feeling the everything is perfect at this exact moment, is the only way I've found that satisfies the need to touch it.
Guitar can be a meditation of sorts! Some people fish, run, do yoga or even meditate to clear their head! Disappearing into my space with a good tone is one of the few ways I've found that helps me sort through all the noise in my head.
However, this is only effective if you are progressing! There are many aspects that come into play in order to progress regularly. But there are three main ideas that I've found have the biggest impact on improving and enjoying guitar. This is where we start on this journey!
Progression at something you love will not only make you better at that specific activity, but it will also give you the motivation to improve at every aspect of life! Not only do I use guitar in this way, but I use skateboarding and fitness as well. And it works!
Most of what I'll be discussing in this podcast has to do with getting better at physically playing metal riffs, from pick attack to structured practicing. But there will be talk about tone, gear, and any other idea that affects your ability to progress.
Ultimately, nothing is as enjoyable if you are alone! My goal is to build a community of positive metal guitarists that want to improve their playing and use that momentum to become a better person and add value to others!
