About this listen

Welcome to Forgotten Cinema! Each episode, Mike Field and Mike Butler highlight a film that for a variety of reasons was forgotten by audiences. Whether it be because a more popular movie was released at the same time or the movie simply didn’t catch on with an audience in the its initial run. We’ll discuss what we love about the movie or perhaps don’t love about it and decide whether the movie is worth a revisit.℗ & © 2024 Forgotten Cinema Art

    Season 5: Audience Choice....begins!!!!!

This episode was brought to us by Forgotten Cinema fan Zach Goodridge!

Mike Butler and Mike Field travel 60's Europe during the midst of the Cold War to meet another dynamic duo who may actual bicker more than them in this episode of Forgotten Cinema.

The Mikes look at the 2015 Guy Ritchie action film, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., starring Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, and Alicia Vikander. They'll discuss the great chemistry and dialogue between Cavill and Hammer, Ritchie's very unique directing style, using the 60's setting to create a very classic cool spy theme, and hopes for a sequel.

We thank Zach for choosing this film and being a fan.

The Mike's are going to "Slam Evil" in this one, bro!

    ...Seriously, that's this film's tagline.

It's the 1996 film, The Phantom on this episode of Forgotten Cinema Season 5: Audience Choice! Brought to us by John Amenta, one of our good friends over at the Pint O' Comics podcast.

Mike Butler and Mike Field take a look at this adventure film starring Billy Zane, Treat Williams, and Catherine Zeta Jones in one of her first big roles. Our hosts will discuss the character of the Phantom himself, the use of over acting in the film to set a tone, the sets, and of course, Billy Zane's skin tight purple crime fighting getup!

Thanks again to John Amenta and find out more about Pint O' Comics at pintocomics.com and listen to their podcast wherever you listen to your podcasts.

The Mikes bust out the checklists, dice, and pewter weapons as Forgotten Cinema explores the 1985 whodunit comedy, Clue, in episode 3 of Season 5: Audience Choice!

This episode was chosen from recommendations from two of our viewers; Biggs from the Box Office Battle Podcast and Field's dear ol' mum herself.

See what Mike Field and Mike Butler think of this film.

SPOILER ALERT: They love it. Also, do you like episodes where they just say a bunch of quotes to each other? Because this is going be one of those!!! Sigh...

Also, learn some fun facts about the production of this film as well as the Mikes explain why this (now) cult classic starring Tim Curry, Michael McKean, and Christopher Lloyd was forgotten.

Thanks again to Ann Marie Field and Biggs from the Box Office Battle podcast. Check it out wherever you listen to you podcasts!
