About this listen

Forever On My Mind is a music history podcast recorded, edited, and hosted by Shane Louis. New episodes released on Fridays.

Originally as a 5 episode series, Forever On My Mind started as my senior undergraduate thesis (or Independent Study / I.S.) at the College of Wooster. I majored in History with a minor in Education, and decided to do my final senior thesis on my favorite genre of music: the blues. With the help and encouragement of the History Department of the College of Wooster, I was able to create 5 episodes outlining my historical argument. I explored the songwriting of blues musicians in the 1960s, when their genre was most popular.

Now, the podcast has become my own median of storytelling and historical thinking when it comes to music. I hope you enjoy my eccentric storytelling, overly-poetic descriptions, and occasional jokes in my podcast.

"You know if you never no more see me

You'll forever be on my mind

If I never no more see you

Yeah, you'll forever be on my mind

You know every time I think about you honey

I just can't keep from crying"

-Son House, Levee Camp Moan, 1965.
