Episode 5 - Exercise and Blood Sugar Control (part 2)

  • Summary

  • In this episode Dr Matthew Campbell and I are joined by Dr Jane Yardley whose area of diabetes expertise is exercise physiology, we are also joined by Daria Arofikina (aka @daria.arof on IG) the host of the What Type1's Eat podcast; a fellow Type 1 who's recently graduated with a masters in nutrition. Exercising and managing blood sugar control can be a battle to say the least! In this episode we discuss a research paper that Dr Jane Yardley wrote looking at the effect on blood sugars of high intensity exercising when done in a fasted state (first thing in the morning) in comparison to exercising in a fed state (in the afternoon). If you struggle to prevent hypoglycemia when exercising this is a must listen to. The link to the paper is: https://bit.ly/JYardleyEp5 We hope you enjoy this.
