Have you ever felt your life completely collapsing around you, despite your best efforts to prevent it? That's exactly where I found myself at age 50 – facing a financial drought so severe I couldn't even pay for my wifi, watching my marriage end, and struggling to maintain the home I'd worked so hard to secure.

This raw, intimate episode explores my journey through what felt like a complete breakdown but was actually a profound rebirth. I share how astrological transits (particularly Pluto square sun) coincided with the dismantling of everything I thought defined me – my financial security, relationships, and sense of self-worth. Despite family members telling me to "get a real job" instead of pursuing coaching and social media, I felt compelled to keep showing up online, planting seeds I couldn't yet see growing.

The most powerful revelation came when I realized I couldn't outrun or rush the seasons of my life. No matter how hard I worked or how positive I tried to be, I was in a necessary season of loss and transformation. What emerged from this dark period – a podcast, a creator network called "Sovereign," and a deeper spiritual understanding – were seeds planted during years of drought that are only now beginning to sprout.

Perhaps our life stories are pre-written, not by some external force, but by our own souls before we incarnate. If that's true, then everything I've experienced, even the most painful moments, was destined and chosen for my evolution. This perspective has helped me find meaning in suffering and trust in my journey.

Listen to this episode if you're going through your own dark season and need reassurance that your invisible progress matters. Your story is uniquely yours – honor it, trust it, and keep going.

  • The Drought That Shaped Me: Finding Sovereignty in Life's Darkest Seasons

The turning point came when I couldn't pay my Wi-Fi bill. After decades of responsible financial management, I found myself at 50, alone in a three-bedroom cottage, watching my resources completely disappear despite my best efforts. This wasn't the comfortable, settled midlife I had envisioned as a child.

My journey through what astrologers call a "Pluto square Sun" transit stripped away everything I thought defined me—financial security, partnership, even my sense of pride and purpose. Family members urged me to "get a real job" instead of pursuing coaching and content creation. Yet something within kept pushing me forward, planting seeds in seemingly barren ground while enduring judgment and isolation.

The paradox was that while I knew intellectually what this astrological transit might bring, I fought it every step of the way. I decorated rooms for lodgers who never came, promoted services that attracted few clients, and tried desperately to maintain appearances while my foundation crumbled. What I didn't realize was that no amount of effort would accelerate me through this necessary season of transformation.

Only now, emerging on the other side, can I see how those difficult years prepared me for new growth. From the depths of that struggle came my podcast, a creator network aptly named "Sovereign," and a clearer understanding of my purpose. The seeds planted in darkness are finally beginning to sprout, not because I forced them but because the season has naturally begun to shift.

This episode explores the delicate balance between fate and free will, the power of honoring rather than resisting life's seasons, and the often invisible nature of our most significant progress. As my grandmother wisely said, "We have come from far"—a simple yet profound acknowledgment of the journey.

Whether you're currently navigating your own difficult season or witnessing someone else's struggle, this raw conversation offers perspective on finding sovereignty through surrender, recognizing the divine plan behind our challenges, and giving ourselves grace as we become the best versions of ourselves.

What season are you in right now? And are you fighting it or honoring it?

  • Navigating the Shifting Landscape: A Creator's Guide to Building Through Uncertainty
    Jul 23 2025

Something profound is happening in the creator economy. The spaces we once considered safe havens for authentic expression are shifting beneath our feet. Brands that loudly championed diversity initiatives are quietly retreating, leaving many creators—particularly creators of colour—watching their opportunities dwindle from dozens of partnerships to barely a handful.

This isn't personal, but it is deeply political. The undercurrents that began flowing during the pandemic and social justice movements of 2020 have now surfaced as a stark reality: visibility, when rented rather than owned, can be swiftly withdrawn. For creators who built careers on platforms they don't control, this revelation demands a fundamental rethinking of purpose and strategy.

I believe we're entering a season that belongs to the builders—those focused not on fleeting viral moments but on creating something quieter and more foundational. The truth I've discovered through my own journey is liberating: you don't need 100,000 followers or even 1,000 to make a meaningful impact. What matters is drilling down into your unique service and making it discoverable whether someone follows you or not. This approach has sustained countless creators through perceived droughts, often without them realizing the resilient foundation they were building. If you're creating without clear direction, don't worry. Seek support and remember that while the final destination may remain uncertain, what truly matters is your present intention and the authentic connections you forge along the way. Are you ready to build something that lasts beyond the applause?
