About this listen

Dopamine & Detours is about riding the waves of life — the highs, the lows, and all the unexpected side quests along the way. Born out of our own infertility journey, this podcast dives into raw, unfiltered conversations about what it really means to keep going when life doesn’t follow the script.

Through interviews and honest storytelling, we explore the moments that test us, surprise us, and shape us. From heartbreak to humor and everything between. Because even in the detours, there’s always a chance to find connection, resilience, and maybe even a little dopamine

Don't forget to grab McDonalds french fries Friday November 21st and send us a pic to help support us during our IVF transfer.

We also talk about an awkward friend situation we somehow got stuck in the middle of, give a quick IVF update, and read a couple of wild Reddit dilemmas. It’s a short, sweet, chaotic little episode and we loved it. 🎄💛

In this week’s episode, we sit down with Brandi, who opens up for the first time about her story. One that’s equal parts heartbreaking and inspiring. She shares how surviving cancer as a baby left her with lifelong side effects, and how a single canon event in her teens triggered an eating disorder that eventually spiraled into addiction, harder drugs, and jail time.

What follows is an honest look at the long, painful road to recovery the kind of healing that strips you down to nothing before rebuilding you into who you were always meant to be. Brandi’s story is proof that even at rock bottom, it’s never too late to start again and that the same person who once struggled to survive can become an incredible mom, a kind soul, and a light for others.

Trigger warning: This episode includes discussion of suicide, eating disorders, drug use, and trauma. Please listen with care.

An episode that starts with good intentions and derails beautifully. No outline, no point just pure chaos, laughter, and random thoughts.
