  • DeRazzled - Ghostbusters (2016), Part 1 - Potato Tomato
    Oct 24 2023

This year for SPOOKY SEASON, we decided to do something a little different. Instead of talking horror movies or covering a Razzie-winner, we decided to let a friend talk us into covering something particularly controversial -- 2016's Ghostbusters: Answer the Call! Our friend and life-long Ghostbusters superfan Matt (AKA Toaster) joins us to talk about what did and didn't work about this Paul Feig film (spoilers: more than you might remember, considering this didn't get a single Razzie nomination). Jack gets talked into changing his mind on something, Matt reminds us of some of the awful nonsense held within the Sony Pictures email leak, everyone reveals embarrassing childhood stories surrounding the original Ghostbusters, and Joe forgets who was in this movie for second. Join us for this episode, but maybe leave the lights on if there's something strange in your neighborhood...

CW: mention of racism dredged from the leaked Sony emails

  • DeRazzled 2nd Unit - WGA & SAG Strikes - Squonkpus
    Oct 17 2023

For the first 2nd Unit episode of the season, we brought back friend, collaborator, and IATSE-member Scott McGrath to talk about the latest regarding the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Did we record this a long time ago and have to splice in a more relevant update? You bet! Plus Jack pitches us an idea for the Unofficial Willem Dafoe Bad Art Short Film Festival! Join us for a story pitch, a lesson about Carvel Cakes (yes, we know Joe says Marvel, don't @ us), fond memories of long-gone restaurants, and an overwhelming number of labor puns.

  • DeRazzled - The Love Guru, Part 2 - Too Stupid to Be Offensive
    Oct 10 2023

We wrap up our season premiere and coverage of Mike Myers' 2008 Worst-Picture winner, The Love Guru! Joe's mom joins us once again as Jack recounts the legal trouble that impacted Myers' career leading up to this movie, somehow hallucinates parts of Jean-Claude Van Damme's Sudden Death, and shows us how it's possible for a movie to be too stupid to be culturally insensitive. Join us for this ridiculous example of what happens when Jack tries to write while seriously ill!

CW: Discussion of cultural appropriation, sex jokes

    Jul 18 2023

We wrap up season 2 by wrapping up our coverage of 2022's Blonde, the Netflix production directed by Andrew Dominik based on the creatively-embellished "bionovel" by Joyce Carol Oates. We address those responsible for the production, touch on the history of films based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. Jack discusses theater training and culture, Joe upholds our standards of scientific rigor, and we reminisce about one of our original podcast ideas before covering more specifics about the Willem Dafoe Bad Art Short Film Festival. We hope you enjoy this season finale as much as we did.
