  • Summary

  • No one has benefited more from AI and Machine learning than the con artist. This 10-part police drama begins in Los Angeles with an investigation into a group of con men using machine learning to improve their scams and ends in Tibet with a long con involving reincarnation and an evolved artificial intelligence. With each chapter, the stakes rise higher as cybercrimes detective Sydney Birch peels back layer after layer of this complex scheme. A lot of the story and its details draw directly from current events and popular online conspiracy theories.

over all a great "read"

its so weird to hear such an unprofessional cop. as if she would be explaining all her food choices to her assistant!
but even with that i loved the storyline. no matter how far fetched it is. thats what sci fi is about right!
took me ages to work out that he was cheedie from a good life. i know i recognised the voice!

Convoluted, but quite intelligent.

The acting was pretty great, although the main character was a little annoying and unprofessional at times. The story was quite impressive and actually taught me lots of things I didn't know, but it was unfortunately also hard to follow at times and felt quite messy. More explanation and description was often required. Also, the ending is rather sudden and very open-ended. I personally would have loved more resolution and answers.
