We pray to the Father through Christ, who opens the door to God for us as our High Priest. In the Old Testament, God appointed priests for men, but now the institution of the priesthood is done away with. We do not need a human to be our mediator because we have Christ. God’s design for us to communicate with Him is in prayer. There are multiple dimensions of prayer as this message shows us, and the prayer that God’s looking for is direct and from the heart. As we study the prayers of the patriarchs through the Pentateuch, we can see that their prayers reflected many dimensions, not just praying for themselves when they had a need.
