I met Becky in Midtown while I was in the bicycle unit. She was a hard working CSO who had all the apartment complexes and rental properties under her thumb. She taught them how to be better property managers, how to make their properties safer for the residents, and the Crime Free Multi-Housing program helped fast track evictions on serious bad actors in the division.

She taught this program around the US, sharing the knowledge she had learned in training and her hands on experience. Her career wasn't without some trials along the way, but she navigated them with grace.

She also contributed to the department's Honor Guard for many years. Finally, she authored a chapter in the book "Empowering Women with Words," available on Amazon.com. Fifteen women came together, writing their own chapter in this book that went on to become a best seller!

As promised, Brian's first episode covered his younger, more formative years as a new Deputy and now we're heading into his time as a K9 handler. His four-legged partners were all studly police dogs, so I'm glad we're covering their heroics this week.

Many times, K9 Officers send their partners into very dangerous situations to reduce the likelihood of danger to the cops. It doesn't make it any less stressful if the dog is hurt or worse. Larry Summerfield's name was dropped, listen for the story where their two dogs tag teamed a really bad actor who needed some K9 TLC...

There's a lot of pics of Brian's K9s, check them out on Facebook or Instagram...

Longtime friend of the show, Paul Dietzel, is back! You can't listen to this show and not be reminded of stories from across the years in public service! Paul is back with new stories, but more importantly, we have a discussion about Paul's experience attending the Bouldercrest Foundation's StruggleWell Program.

It's been awhile since I spoke about the Bouldercrest Foundation, so it is timely and I'm always glad to have Paul hang out for a few hours. If you are in law enforcement, or love someone who is in law enforcement, who carries the weight of their job on their hearts...please consider this FREE program that helps get you back on the path to resilience.

In this episode, we go back and touch on a few stories from his past before we discuss his service to the Pima County Sheriff's Department! From Patrol in the San Xavier District to Motors and search and rescue!

He's been a great guest, and I plan to see him in the future at Task Force Red gun shop here in Tucson.

    Well,

We've made it to the last episode of this series! I'm so glad, and honored, to be a part of him telling the stories that impacted him on a personal and professional level. He has been a great guest.

We chat about John's second and third shootings in this episode. We discuss the fact that these are some of the worst days, but as a leader you wish that if this day must come, it would be you so that you could take the burden off of your friend's shoulders. I have a lot of respect for John, and so many other folks I worked amongst, for having that selfless mindset of a warrior.

Please tune in, tell your friends, and let's show John some love for his last spin on the podcast!!!

Sadly, this trilogy is coming to an end and we saved some of the best stories for last! 35 years in law enforcement couldn't possibly be covered without multiple episodes!!!

I'm so grateful Jill agreed to sit in the hot seat and put up with me for hours on end to get these stories recorded for posterity! Please give her a warm welcome and buckle in because this episode was a blast from beginning to end...

Dan is the proud owner or Task Force Red Firearms and Gunsmith here in Tucson (1802 W. Grant Rd, 520-289-0878, tfrguns.com)! But prior to that, the guy has done a lot of things and been a lot of places, all in the name of service of others over self.

I'm excited for you all to hear about him growing up in Tucson and deciding the military life was how he planned to get some life experience under his belt before settling in to local law enforcement. The twists and turns along the way, but serving in pretty significant ways at each stage in his life. The trials he faced as an older man entering the Army was very interesting to me.

Show him some love, he'll be back soon because we never even made it to the point where he joined the Pima County Sheriff's Department!!! Dan has done a bunch of things in his life, and I'm glad to share them with you here on Choir Practice! Enjoy the episode!
