• Hymns with Hers, FUEL
    Aug 24 2025

Amy Carmichael wrote a prayer-poem and entitled it "Make Me Thy Fuel" which I memorized sometime between childhood and my teen years. I was sharing this with a friend who loved it but was quite sure she couldn't memorize it, so I thought maybe in a song she could learn it! I set Amy's words, exactly as she penned them, to the tune of Sweet Hour of Prayer, my grandmother Mama Sisson's favorite hymn, and added a line of my own at the end of each stanza.

  • When Men Had Minds: Rudyard Kipling
    Feb 19 2024

Once upon a time, men had minds. Men and women have always been given the choice to pursue wisdom or foolishness, it is true. But it seems to me that in our day and age, there is far more foolishness than mindfulness. Rudyard Kipling was a man with a magnificent mind. Here are 3 of my favorite works of his: The Gods of The Copybook Headings, The Truce of The Bear, and IF.
