This student bought an airplane before starting flight training. This isnt an unheard of thing many people do it to help reduce the cost of training by selling the airplane when they are done training. This student instead bought a European shark an experimental aircraft that has the cruise speed of a bonanza and the fuel burn of a cessna.

its just a little complicated to get training in it.
