Bestselling author and investigative storyteller Blake J. Harris (Console Wars, The History of the Future) stopped by the podcast to promote the launch of his book, Emperor of Nothing: The Making of Larry David. As the first authorized biography of the legendary Seinfeld co-creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star, the project is the culmination of more than five years of deep-dive research and exclusive interviews with Larry David himself, his family, and close industry collaborators. During the episode, Harris offers a behind-the-scenes look at how he convinced the notoriously reluctant comedy icon to cooperate starting with David's reluctant five-word email assent, "Oh Jesus. If we must" and unpacks the neuroses, uncompromising creative purity, and string of early career "failures" that ultimately shaped one of television's most influential minds.
