Join Emily Thompson from Morbidology as she looks into a case that is beyond bizarre: the Lake Oconee murders. In May 2014, 88 year old Russell Dermond and his wife Shirley failed to show up for a Kentucky Derby party at their neighbors' house. There was no sign of a disturbance at the home – but Russell was found decapitated on the garage floor. His head has never been found. Shirley was also missing, but days later she was found in the lake. She had been bound and bludgeoned, tied to cinderblocks, and thrown into the water from a boat. Who killed this elderly retired couple, what was the motive – and where is Russell's missing head?

Episode 3 The Zeigler Furniture Store Murders

Join Robin Warder from the podcasts, The Trail Went Cold & The Path Went Chilly
as he discusses a case that is beyond bizarre: the Christmas eve 1975 quadruple murder of four people in a furniture store in Winter Garden, Florida. Tommy Zeigler, the store's owner, was convicted of the crime and sentenced to death. 46 years later, he is still on death row. His conviction is controversial, with recanting witnesses, conflicts of interest, and contradictory testimony. In May of 2021, Zeigler was finally awarded the right to conduct DNA testing of some of the physical evidence from the scene. Will it prove that someone else killed his wife, his in-laws, and a customer in a deadly barrage of bullets?

Episode 4 The Alabama Axe Murderess

Join Erica Kelley from Southern Fried True Crime as she takes a look at a case she finds beyond bizarre – the June 1959 torso murders in Northeast Alabama. That month, two male human torsos were found in Etowah and St. Clair counties. The arms and legs belonging to these torsos were found scattered in Calhoun County. The victims remained unidentified for weeks, and they turned out to be the Harper brothers. They lived in a trailer on a farm in Calhoun County – a farm owned by the family of Viola Hyatt, who eventually confessed to the gruesome murders and dismemberment. But, even after all these years, questions remain. Did Viola kill the Harper Brothers?

    Episode 7: Keith Warren

The host for this episode is Jules from Riddle me that and The Path Went Chilly. Join Jules as she discusses a case that is beyond bizarre – the death of Keith Warren. Keith, a 19 year-old Black man, was found hanging from a tree in Silver Spring, Maryland in 1986. The police ruled his death a suicide, and closed the case. But many facets of this case point to foul play. Circumstances of the hanging indicate that Keith could not have done it to himself. A 2nd autopsy found toxicology that was inconsistent with death by suicide. Keith was found wearing clothes and shoes that were not his. And a friend of his died under suspicious circumstances after a threat that he was next was received. What really happened to Keith Warren?
