• Transformative change
    Jul 27 2025

Before our trip, I had so many questions running through my mind—how would Rewansh react to a new country, a new environment, and so many unfamiliar experiences? Change has always been a big deal for him. But what I witnessed on this journey left me amazed.
One of my biggest concerns was his food habits—limited to a few semisolid options. But thanks to my sister-in-law’s encouragement, we tried introducing him to new foods, and to my surprise, he accepted them! At first, I thought this might just be a temporary phase, but after observing him for a month since returning home, I see real progress. He’s not just open to new foods now—he’s even enjoying fresh fruit smoothies we make at home!
This experience reinforced a powerful lesson: sometimes, a change in environment can bring unexpected growth. Stepping outside familiar spaces might open new doors for our kids, leading to incredible transformations. So, let them explore, experience, and surprise you!

  • Preparation for International Travel
    Jul 26 2025

A travel can be difficult with kids and when it comes to special children, the parents need to prepare additionally. As soon as I booked my tickets, I was concerned about the long flight for Rewansh. I did some homework to prepare things that may meet his needs.
    - I prepared some ready to eat oats by roasting it a bit and then grinding it,
    - kept few packets of ready to eat khichdi,
    - kept cold milk in Flask that can be heated and
    - the important things is a heating cup to prepare food at the airport.
    - I also kept a few airlock containers such that food prepared can be stored. For next flight at the airport.
One may prepare as much but the actual experience is unpredictable.

  • New Beginnings for Raywnsh!
    Jul 26 2025

A big step for us! I’ve enrolled Raywnsh in a new school designed specifically for special kids, and I’m so happy with the approach they follow.
    What makes this school special?
✅ It’s not just a school but also a training center for therapists. Each trainee therapist is assigned to a child on a rotational basis, helping them learn while developing social skills through different interactions.
✅ The student-to-teacher ratio is 2:1, ensuring dedicated attention and personalized learning.
✅ The curriculum is approved by open schooling for special kids, with the possibility of transitioning to an inclusive school when ready.
As expected, Day 1 was tough—Raywnsh had been enjoying his vacation at home, and the change was overwhelming. But from Day 2 onward, he settled in beautifully! I had to tweak my schedule a bit, but everything is falling into place now.
If you’re in east delhi region and looking for a good school for special kids, feel free to DM me! I’d be happy to share the details. ❤️

  • Your attitude defines your altitude
    Apr 26 2025

"Your attitude defines your altitude" is a powerful reminder for parents of special needs children that how you approach life's challenges can profoundly shape your journey and your child's development. Raising a child with special needs often involves unique obstacles, but maintaining a positive, patient, and resilient attitude can empower both you and your child to rise above difficulties. Your outlook not only influences your own well-being but also sets the tone for your child's perspective on life. When you embrace challenges with optimism and determination, you teach your child to do the same. By fostering a mindset of growth and possibility, you help your child reach their full potential, regardless of any setbacks. The altitude you both achieve is not determined by external circumstances, but by the strength of your attitude in facing them together.

  • Travel Made Easier
    Apr 24 2025

Traveling from Delhi to Austin with my son has always been a journey which was concerning but it became easy and also filled with love, preparation, and a dash of adventure! 🌏✈️ This time was no different—I packed all his essentials like food and milk to ensure he was comfortable throughout the long journey. Also packed his notebooks and colors to keep him busy. I also considered taking his tablet for his cooling off period.
But this trip came with a new discovery—the *Sunflower Project*! 🌻 This incredible initiative supports individuals with unseen disabilities at airports, making the travel experience smoother and stress-free. With just a 48-hour prior intimation to the airline, we were able to avail this support, which truly made a world of difference.
From smoother check-ins to considerate assistance at every step, the Sunflower Project reminded me how a little thoughtfulness can transform an experience. 💛
To every parent or caregiver navigating similar journeys, remember to reach out and take advantage of such programs—they’re here to make your travel comforting and inclusive.

  • Bridges of Trust
    Apr 23 2025

Trust is a two-way street, especially for parents of special kids. 💙
While we often talk about being in our children’s trust circle, have we paused to ask: Do we truly trust them too?
Our kids’ circles of trust are smaller—often limited to parents and siblings. But as parents, we sometimes dismiss their actions or feelings as tantrums or patterns, forgetting to see things from their perspective.
A moment of realization struck me when my son insisted on changing his shirt after just a drop of water got on it. Initially, I dismissed it as unnecessary. But then, a voice within reminded me: Trust him. It’s his comfort, his feeling—not mine.
Let’s remember, trusting our children means honoring their emotions, no matter how small they may seem to us. 🌟

  • Love, Care, and Health
    Nov 16 2024
Recently, I came across a fascinating study that got me thinking about the power of love and care. In this experiment, a number of rabbits were divided into two groups and fed a high-fat diet. Group A rabbits developed high cholesterol, as expected, but Group B rabbits had remarkably lower cholesterol levels! 🩺What was different about Group B? It turns out that their caretakers regularly held them, showed them affection, and fed them with love. 💖 This simple act of care had a profound impact on their health, even under the same dietary conditions as Group A.It made me think about our past generations. They lived closer to each other, supporting one another with warmth and care—and, perhaps not surprisingly, they often seemed healthier too.🌱 For us as parents, there’s a powerful takeaway: our love, affection, and attention can shape our children’s mental and physical well-being. Our hugs, words, and support aren’t just comforting—they can have a long-lasting impact on their health.Let’s remember that the best nourishment for our children’s hearts isn’t just food but the love we give. 💕#specialneedsparenting #acceptanceoverjudgment #parentingwithlove #celebratedifferences #asd #autism #autismdad #autismmom #autismparent #parent #parenting #parentingtips #child #kid #kids #baby #babyboy #babygirl #trust #love #loveislove #autismacceptance #specialneeds #specialneedsparenting #accept #acceptance #motherhood #fatherhood #parenthood

  • Proud Parent Moment
    Nov 15 2024
Today, I want to share a beautiful step in my son’s journey. As a non-verbal autistic child, his communication has always been unique and meaningful in its own way. Recently, he started speaking a few words, identifying letters, and surprising us with his own creative take on spelling! 💙It’s incredible to watch him call out words, some from school and others from his own imagination. For instance, he spells “D O D O” for “Dudu” (milk) and “E L L O U” for “hello” — finding his own way to express himself without knowing all the rules we take for granted. 🥰Moments like these remind me that children on the autism spectrum are not just learning from us; they are creating in ways that are uniquely their own. It’s a reminder to celebrate and nurture their creativity, no matter how it shows up. 💫Special kids, especially those on the spectrum, have their own kind of magic, and I feel so grateful to witness his every step. Keep shining, little one! 🌟💙#specialneedsparenting #acceptanceoverjudgment #parentingwithlove #celebratedifferences #asd #autism #autismdad #autismmom #autismparent #parent #parenting #parentingtips #child #kid #kids #baby #babyboy #babygirl #trust #love #autismacceptance #specialneeds #specialneedsparenting #accept #acceptance #proudparent
