These two young, excited and educated women set out to share with you true crime stories, from old and current, small town and national headlines.     Lindsey Pilkington met Jason Lee in a chance interaction at work, and they instantly hit it off. Soon they married and began their lives together. When Lindsey didn’t show for her job at the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department one morning, they knew something must be wrong. A wellness check revealed a gruesome scene and confirmed what they’d feared: Lindsey had been killed. The investigation revealed a pending divorce, financial troubles, jealousy, resentment, and more.

    Episode 214: The Abduction of Kari Swenson

    Kari Swenson was just 23 years old when she was a world biathlon competitor and athlete. On July 15, 1984, she was out for a training run in the Ulerys Lake area in Montana, she was abducted by a survivalist father-son duo, Don and Dan Nichols, who planned to force Kari to marry 19 year old Dan. When she didn’t return to the ranch she worked on, a search party set out to find her. When two of the searchers found Kari tied up, a chaotic scene unfolded in which one man lost his life and Kari nearly lost hers. She is only alive today due to her perseverance, resilience, and physical strength.

    Sidney Wells was headed into his senior year of college with the world at his feet. He had dreams of becoming a journalist and maybe enlisting in the Navy. His life was cut short when he was murdered in the condo he shared with his brother Sam and their roommate, Thayne Smika. The investigation led to Thayne, but by the time they had enough evidence, he was in the wind. A Hollywood connection brought Sid’s case to the national media, but his case is still open.
