  • King sack Oliver, Dally M Medal, Aussie cricket double

    Steven King has made his first big call as coach of the Melbourne Demons, telling Clayton Oliver to find a new club. The 4-time best and fairest winner wanted to stay, but was told he didn’t fit into their midfield plans. James Tedesco is the NRL’s Dally M medallist for 2025.

    The Roosters captain finished 22 votes in front of runner-up Nathan Cleary to claim the coveted award for the second time. The 32-year-old will undergo stem cell surgery on his knee in the off-season, in a bid to prolong his career. The NRLW Dally M went to Broncos fullback Tamika Upton for the second time.

    Mitch Marsh powered Australia to a six-wicket win in game one of the Chappell-Hadlee T-20 series in New Zealand. Marsh made 85 from just 43 deliveries as the Aussies chased down their 182-run target with 21 balls to spare. And the Aussie women’s team started their title defence at the One-Day World Cup in India with an 89-run win over New Zealand. Ash Gardner made 115 off 83 balls.

  • NRL grand final, AFL trade target, Champions League
    Oct 1 2025

    Broncos superstar Reece Walsh was the centre of attention, at an open training session at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Wednesday morning. The Broncos take on the Storm in Sunday night’s NRL Grand Final at Accor Stadium.

    Western Bulldogs forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan is hopeful he can revive his career with the Gold Coast Suns. The former number 1 draft pick met with the Suns on Wednesday, after sitting out the entire season due to personal issues.

    And Liverpool crashed to its second defeat in as many games, this time in the Champions League. The 1-nil loss to Turkish side Galatasaray was compounded by injuries to goalkeeper Alisson and striker Hugo Ekitike.

    Roosters captain James Tedesco has pulled out of the Australian Kangaroos Ashes Tour of England. The favourite to win tomorrow night’s Dally M Medal, Tedesco wants to remain in Australia to be the best man at his brother’s wedding and to rehab a knee issue.

    Melbourne Demons star Christian Petracca has officially requested a trade from the club. The 2021 Norm Smith Medallist has met with Adelaide and has been linked to Gold Coast and Hawthorn.

    Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of the T20 series in New Zealand after breaking his arm in a training mishap.

    Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill is set for a long stint on the sidelines, suffering a gruesome leg injury in their 27-21 win over the New York Jets.
