Today's Guest: Assoc. Dir. of Facilities and Ops at Pittsburgh- Dorothy Stromdahl

Her journey began as a student employee at Slippery Rock University, and she’s since held positions at Bowling Green State University, Central Michigan University, and Syracuse University.

She has spent her career helping students grow, build confidence, and find community through sport, wellness, and recreation. With over 10 years in collegiate recreation, she serves as the Associate Director of Facilities and Operations at the University of Pittsburgh, helping lead Campus Recreation across five recreation spaces that serve more than 30,000 students and members.

For her, sports and recreation aren’t just about competition or fitness — they’re about connection, growth, and creating spaces where people truly belong. Along the way, she has mentored hundreds of student employees, managed large operational teams, and developed innovative staff programs focused on leadership, teamwork, and career readiness.
