Publisher's Summary

Emergency landing. Uncharted planet. Erotic captivity of epic proportions. Right when Captain Alec Hamlin thinks it can’t get any crazier, his team is sold to their captors’ mighty sovereign. King Zercy of the Kríe. Ruler of the planet’s most formidable species. Man, is he imposing. So regal and larger than life. And way too savagely handsome for Alec’s liking. From the first moment he laid eyes on him, he knew the Kríe was trouble, knew he needed to steer clear of him at all costs. But when Zercy chooses Alec to be his personal pet, all plans to dodge the male fall by the wayside.

Alec is forced to spend each evening in the alluring king’s company, each night bound to the seductive king’s bed. Wholly at his mercy. Utterly defenseless, in his own mind and most especially his restless body. His struggle is real. Because the more Alec gets to know Zercy, the more he realizes two things. The Kríe king is damaged, unstable, not right, making him unpredictable and highly dangerous. But he is also innately kind beneath the raging storm that torments him. Kind and genuine, with a sad but beautiful soul. Something Alec fights with all he is, not to acknowledge. He can’t fall for Zercy. Zercy is the enemy. The captor of both Alec and his team. Which means Alec needs to get them out of there, before it’s too late. Before emotions overthrow logic and take control of the wheel. If only his body didn’t crave Zercy so fiercely, and his heart didn’t want him just as badly.

With Search and Rescue due any day, and Alec’s team getting antsy, Alec is forced to make a decision. He can’t have it both ways. Is he the captain of his men, bound to obligation, or is he a man in love with a Kríe?

Warning: erotic romance. Contains explicitly scorching gay sex with exotic and shamelessly kinky males of otherworldly descent.

Epic Sci Fi MM Romance

Definitely not your usual Sci Fi Romance. No one is abducted. Humans crash land when coming to research new planet. Two teams, one scientists, second rescue team arriving a year after. Amazing world building. Loved it. Loving narrator chosen for this series Zane Daniels amazing at portraying different voices for the characters. Hoping this series continues!

breathtakingly beautiful

Epic storyline, epic characters, epic narration. Funny, emotional and super creative. Erotic, and absolutely beautiful!
One of those books that will stay with me forever.
I listened to the first book prior, I would definitely recommend reading in order as it adds to the character development and the overall progression of the storyline. First book has a different feel, less intense emotionally but definitely sets you up for the emotional ride of Zercy.

ABSOLUTE BANGER OF A BOOK

GAY ALIEN SPACE ROMANCE. 10/10!

I've been consuming romance for years, ever since my first red Mills and Boon from the library.

This has well written, well voice acted ( the Aussie accent didn't make me want to rip my own face off like they normally do), people have actual motivations and hesitance. HOT ASS SEX! Very Sex positive. Doesn't have a bunch of the regular downfalls of the genre of surprise racism, sexism and homophobia.

Admittedly, it is a world where women do not exist, which honestly, was handled surprisingly well. I hope there is like one more in this series, and then the author is allowed to do other amazing things and not have it pumped to death like so many other ones.

Loved it. First time I've ever felt the need to review anything.

Absolute Perfection!

Kora Knight’s stories literally never disappoint and Zercy is no exception.

The Queen of Edge has done it again in her latest installment in her The Nira Chronicles series.

Book two, Zercy, follows on from Kríe Captivity. To fully immerse yourself in the Nira experience I highly suggest you read book one first.

Zercy the Kríe King is enamored with the human, Alec - who was sold to the King after the human craft crashed on the alien planet. Alec also feels something for the Kríe King but can’t (or won’t) acknowledge the pull between them.

This love story is completely enriching and deeply felt with Knight providing her unique style of keeping the reader gasping for more while eventually delivering the most satisfying journey to be had via a Kindle.

I am not a keen reader of fantasy-romance, but Kora makes the sci-fi components simple to follow and skillfully uses them to enhance the reader’s experience by creating depth of character and a world filled with vibrancy, which just wouldn’t be possible without the fantasy elements.

Even without the scorching hot sex scenes, build up of angst and deeply felt love, Zercy is a tense tale of suspense, drama and humor. Alec is torn between the feelings that are building for the Kríe King and his loyalty to his team. He is their captain and feels responsible for their wellbeing - but what will he do if their desires differ from his own?

Kora is a master of tension and the voyage she takes the reader on is satisfying and deep.

I find it exceedingly rare to be able to clearly define more than 10 unique characters in a story by the way they look and their personalities, but Kora makes the individuals she creates so vibrant that I, the reader, feel I know every personality and can imagine further adventures for each.

The Nira Chronicles is a rare gift and one you simply cannot miss out on!

Kora Knight’s stories are highly sexual and mouth-wateringly decadent. Zercy is another course in her scrumptious banquet and I am already hungry for more!

After all that - we now have this fantabulous book available on audio with the brilliant voice of Zane Daniels bringing our much loved characters to full technicolour life! 20 hours of bliss, not to be missed!

This is stunningly good!

Having been sold to Zercy, King of the Krie, Captain Alec Hamlin and his science team settle down to life in Zercy’s court. While Zercy views the humans as pets, he does develop an attachment to Alec. Things seems harmonious but Alec wants to know the closely guarded secret abut why Zercy is capturing and using slaves for mining. While Krie Captivity was excellent, this is a much richer, longer story, detailing the growing relationship between Zercy and Alec, the mounted rescue mission, and the rift between Nirans. While hugely satisfying and absorbing, not every question is answered and I’d love a third book to tie everything off. Zane Daniels really gives a wonderful audio performance, it honestly couldn’t be better!

Editor needed, but still loved it, was very sexy

Not as Erotic. Had some annoying flaws but I enjoyed it.

Weirdly enough, this books spicy moments actually don't happen for like 8-9 hours into this book, near the halfway point. This is a loooong book. So, I dont mind waiting that long usually, just was not really expected given that this is labeled as erotica. It's slow slow pacing didn't make this feel super erotic when you're that far in without much erotica. There is a LOT of teasing, so much teasing that it gets annoying and you want some actual meaningful action to happen. All that teasing though really brings out my biggest issue though regarding how annoying this main character is.

This main character constantly going on and on about 'I shouldn't do this' 'I shouldn't be feeling this way' 'why I am I doing this, this shouldn't be happening', I swear I felt like every 10 minutes the word 'shouldn't' would get brought up. I was getting irritated with how repetitive that was. My goodness this needed a editor to catch that very obvious issue. It somewhat hampered my enjoyment of what was going on because it was so repetitive and gave mixed signals. The main character is so obviously enjoying his experience, albeit new and confused, but when he constantly has to remind himself every 10 minutes that he 'shouldn't' be doing something when he very obviously is egging it on and giving mixed signals everywhere, it gets annoying. I was annoyed. So annoyed. Sometimes he would legit go on about all his 'shouldn'ts' immediately after he just did something intimate or sweet, ugh. Stop with the 'shouldn'ts'

Despite those major issues. The world building in this book is lovely. The world is sexy, naughty and creative. I really liked the detailed writing because it really made the world easy to see what's going on. The world feels like it's in a constant state of teasing the main character because the culture is just so richly sexual. It's fun to see how he engages all the weirdness going on around him. Unfortunately I wish he would stop with all his 'shouldn't' still though everytime he 'likes' something about the world.

This is definetly a character focused book. The plot going on and off in the background really comes and goes. Most of the book is dedicated to world building and then developing the relationships of these characters and showing how the main character, and occasionally his crew, interacts with the sexy weird world.

I'm somewhat up in the air though if the spicy moments were worth it. When you hear the word 'shouldn't' so many many times it sticks in the back of your head still even when things are heating up. Haha especially because you could oh most guarantee that the main character is going to say 'shouldn't have done that' or whatever is close to that phrase immediately after the heat settles. Depending on your speed, just be prepared for like 10-12 hours of all those mixed signals. Ugh. It gets better though. The sexy world building, character development and later the plot does save this from being a mediocre book. The Erotic moments do occasionally break up all the teasing and tension, just wish there was more of it. For such a long book, kinda felt like this needed something more to break up some of the world, characters, plots and 'shouldn'ts'

Also the audiobook version. Absolutely excellent. That narrator is honestly what kept me going. His voice acting skills were fantastic and allowed me to overlook a lot and get sucked in with his story telling skills. He also is very graphic with how he acts out spicy scenes too, so, Yay.

This was absolutely brilliant!!

Zane Daniel's audio delivery and narration is absolutely commendable and on point. He does an amazing job portraying the characters and giving them their own voices.

I literally finished this one in a single sitting.

The world building us so beautifully and intricately developed.
The storyline was engaging, compelling and interesting.

I can't wait to get my hands on book 3 and am absolutely addicted to this series.

Definitely recommend this entire series!

A Brilliantly Awesome🔥Fantasy🔥Superb Narration 🎧📚🎧

Kora Knight pens another out of this world, smoking hot SciFi fantasy novel. I am loving the uniqueness and originality of the story, the plotting, character development and world building is phenomenal. I found this 20+ hour story to be so engrossing that I lost track of time and thoughts of anything else going on in the world. Escapism at its best. I highly recommend starting with the first book in the series, that book laid down the foundation of the series, this second one picks up where that book leaves off and up to a year after Alec and his team crash landed on Planet Nira. Alec, Zaden, Chet, Noah, Bailey & Jamis are now property of King Zercy thanks to Gesh and his pack mates selling them off. Gesh had second thoughts about Noah and wanted him back but a deal was a deal, he left empty handed and broken hearted but was determined to get him back one way or another. He finds his chance one year later when the rescue team answering Alec’s distress call arrives. Zercy had taken interest in Alec, keeping him as his pet, the five bunked together and while Zercy said they were treated like guest they felt like they were prisoners, but then again according to Zercy since he bought them he owns them. The build up of Alec and Zercy’s relationship is amazing, the chemistry between them is electrically charged. Alec had never been attracted to men before landing on Nira, at first he thought it may have bee the lack of women but then he realizes that it is all about Zercy. While Zercy is dealing with problems in his kingdom, Alec is torn between loyalty to his team and to Zercy, but in true leader mode his team comes first. When opportunity arises to gain freedom for his team he questions what to do but the choice winds up out of his hand. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is brilliantly plotted and there is never a dull moment. There is plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, some action, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions and some sensual and erotic loving like no other. Kora Knight, thank you for another amazing novel, I must say Reckay Moonsah Nira Chronicles!!

🎧📚🎧 Zane Daniels continues to deliver an outstanding performance bringing these characters and story to life. He does an amazing job portraying the characters, he has a complete understanding of each role he plays, plays it convincingly and with confidence. He handles all the dialogue with ease and switches roles effortlessly without missing a beat. Zane Daniels is a mega talented narrator and a versatile voice artist, his performance enhances an already awesome story to another level of awesomeness. Thank you for this entertaining listen and for transporting me to Planet Nira! It is always a pleasure to listen to your audiobooks.

Unparalleled narration

Not a fan of PRN, I am however a very big fan of Zane Daniels (Zachary Johnson). Heard nothing but raves about this series and thought “ oh what the hell.” I’ve listen to a lot of audiobooks and can’t think of any quite like this. Zane Daniels gives us so many different voices, with perfect inflection and immense passion. The Story is very good with tremendous detail. He brings it to an entirely higher level. This guy is the real deal and has rapidly gone to the very top of my favorite narrator status. Highest recommendation.

Twenty-Four Hours That Rocked My World

I’m combining reviews of Krie Captivity and Zercy here simply because I devoured them in immediate succession as one twenty-four hour book, since the first was only four hours and the second twenty. I’ve never been so glad to see a sequel this long. I’ve been a fan of science fiction and space opera since I was ten. Having discovered M/M erotica a couple of years ago, I’ve been a fan of it, too. This book brought the best elements of both and has likely spoiled me for similar books. The writing, the story, the attention to detail, the world-building, and the narrator combine to make this the best I’ve ever listened to.

It’s also refreshing to hear dialog that sounds more like real men talking to each other and less like men filtered through a woman, as a lot of M/M romance tends to sound. The writing deserves most of the credit for that, but the brilliant narration drives it home.

I can’t say enough good things about Zane Daniels’ narration. If there are Oscars for voice actors, he deserves all of them. I was hooked from the first paragraph of Krie Captivity and stayed mesmerized to the last paragraph of Zercy. There’s no one better and the heat he brings to the intimate scenes (and there are quite a few) is scorching hot.

I’m really hoping there’s more coming in this series, but even if there isn’t, it was left at a place that’s satisfying enough to leave it where it is. I’d love to see Alec and Zercy’s journey continue and I want to see what happens with the rest of these charismatic characters as well. I loved all of them, even Chet, who I wanted to slap at times. The author’s ability to make you see the contrasting perspectives of three different species is terrific.

I don’t often give five stars for every element of an audiobook, but if I could give this one ten, I would.

The most fun I have ever had!

The story itself is a total blast! If you are looking for MM sci-fi romance you have just found the holy grail.

I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed listening to a book more than I did listening to the Nira chronicles!
(The second book is almost 5 times the listening length of the first book so I think of the first book as a prequel and consider them together when I write this review.)

The performance of the narrator was absolutely stellar, I was totally captivated and transported by their committed delivery and diverse inflection. Bravo!

This story is unapologetically erotic, sometimes moments were so fraught with sexual tension I was literally biting my nails. This author not only has the ability to build up to erotically explosive moments, but the patience to lay the groundwork of intimacy necessary for true emotional investment. The result was this extraordinary adventure. This story was so hot that at times I felt my earphones would light of fire! At other times the emotional struggles of one of the characters would make me sad enough to cry.

The bottom line is this author had me on board 100% and I was right there with the characters every moment. I never wanted it to end!

Kinda long... great story though

The story was really great, action- packed with really hot love story as the center. It was a very long book and a little repetitive but the narration was so great... you didn't really notice. Anxiously waiting for the next installment.

A vast improvement over the first.

The author or editor seems to still have a fundamental misunderstanding of what consent is - but this book is WAY better than the first. Something more than drugs and hormones involved in the relationship finally. for the first 5 hours or so I nearly gave up on this book, but I'm glad I stuck through it for the final half. I would like to read more in the world fleshing out the rest of the characters and relationships built on a foundation of something other than Stockholm, but since this book was published in 2017 I'm seriously not thinking that'll happen.

Just wow!

This is the longest book I've listened too but the 20+ hours went by so fast.
You really need to listen to book one first or you won't understand what is happening. I re-listened to book 1 to refresh my memory of where things left off.
The story is fast paced and the world building is fantastic. This is one of the reasons the book doesn't feel as long as it actually is.
Yes - the book is highly erotic, but I felt that it was necessary to understand Zercy and his race.
Zane Daniels, what to say about this guy! This is my first book by this narrator and I'm frantically searching for more 🤓 his range of voices and use of accents across the different species was masterful. As for the voice he used to Zercy... Let's just say he could read me the phone book and I would still need to fan myself 😅😍
Brilliant book - Brilliantly read! I am desperate for the next one now - hopefully soon Ms Knight?!!!! Xxxx

What a great story, with different species and their weird world. They have these plants that make you desperate to.... and horns that if you touch...and even trees that concieve..... and so much fudging, wow.

The narration of this story is just superb, Zane Daniels's depth and range of voices of the king and other species and the many humans is excellent.

STILL CONFLICTED - BUT HUGE IMPROVEMENT!

After just finishing the first book I found that this second entry into The Nira Chronicles was also available so picked it up and delved right back into this world. My conflicted opinions on the first book were still fresh but was hopeful this second entry would address the concerns I had with the characterizations of the humans. In short some of my concerns were addressed, but not all which I will go into further detail below. But overall this entry is a big improvement on the first book.

Like the first book, this entry does a great job at painting a vivid image of Nira and it's alien inhabitants. This entry is much longer than the first, allowing for far more world building to be given to the reader, which I was thankful for and very much enjoyed. Although I am aware this is an erotic novel, I very much enjoyed visualizing the details of the world itself. If anything I'd say I enjoyed this aspect more so than the erotic scenes that smattered the story.

I was glad to learn more of Nira. This entry specifically was a deep dive into the core of krie culture and it did a great job of bring their society to life. Of course other races do make appearances, but they are merely supporting roles to this entry that offer a glimpse into what other avenues future entries could explore. However it is the krie who take centre stage in this book and it is the King Zercy who serves as the readers guide into his kingdom.

As with the first book, I very much enjoyed the characterizations of the krie, with Zercy quickly becoming my favourite character by far. Simply because he had far more depth than any other character in the series thus far. He was complex and multi faceted. He was a believable character and as such is one the reader can truly connect with....which is a stark contrast to Alec and the other human characters, who again seemed anything but human.

It was great to finally see Alec have some meaningful character development at long last!.....however it came far too late into the book. At least two thirds of the book went by before we saw any meaningful change to Alec's character that actually stuck. I'm sorry to say that throughout the course of the first book and the majority of the second, Alec and his teammates (excluding Noah) became increasingly annoying. Yet again the reader is forced to go through their same repetitious and nonsensical inner monologues....Every time these "humans" had an intimate moment or even thought about the gay acts they very clearly loved, it was always followed by some nonsensical tripe about how they were "straight" or how they "couldn't/shouldn't" feel the way they did.

These irritating monologues have been a constant thorn in the side of this story from the beginning. But it is especially aggravating in the case of Alec....I feel as though the author was trying to portray the inner struggle every gay person has to go through as they come to terms with their sexuality. However in this case it just came across as totally unrealistic and far from accurate.

When a gay person is coming into their sexual awakening, the kind of inner turmoil Alec was experiencing was fairly accurate. However once a gay person goes back for seconds, thirds, and beyond....these kind of inner monologues quickly disappear because they are actively engaging on continuing down this path and actively taking part in further gay sexual encounters....

The simple truth of the matter is that Alec's inner turmoil should have dwindled far sooner than it should have. To the point where it not only became ridiculous but also totally ruined the immersion. Not only that but it also just ruined the natural flow of the plot and character development. Every time Alec had yet another one of his incredibly aggravating monologues I became less and less interested in his character. The same thing can be said for the other humans. But because they yet again did not receive much limelight in the plot, their monologues were less obnoxious but still very annoying. Bottom line is that these characters should have accepted being gay way sooner than they did!

Furthermore the human characters still lack any true individuality, especially in regards to the rescue team who are essentially nothing but carbon copies of Alec's team. The humans in this world are nothing more than Action Men...expendable and replaceable plastic figures, with no sense of self awareness or complex cognitive behavior. It is so very ironic that the krie are far more human than the actual humans!....

As a whole though, this second entry was enjoyable...the humans just brought it down and stopped it from being something greater, which it very much could be going forward if the author totally drops this "straight" narrative for future entries. Thankfully it seems the winds of change have finally started to blow in that direction as Alec finally accepted being gay and finally stopped his incessant and moronic "I'm straight" monologues. It seems the other humans in Alec's team finally started to ditch those monologues too, allowing them to finally think and converse as real humans! It's just unfortunate that these changes did not happen until the end of the book.

- Speculative commentary on future entries:

Although I am very critical of certain aspects of this story, it is only because I want to see it become something greater and actually fully embrace gay people and our culture. Rather than vapid and empty smut fetish. As such I do actually look forward to the third entry and hope to see it further shed this stupid "straight" narrative.

Though I fear with the presence of Garret and his team coming into the picture, we're about to see him go through the exact same motions as Alec....Garret has already shown the warning signs of this through his monologues about the lack of Tohri females and speculating on the sexuality of Airis and his comrades...and already it is tiresome. We have already gone through this plot arc with Alec and his team. We do not need to see it repeated through the carbon copy rescue team and their Tohri saviours..

Surprisingly enjoyable

I got into this story more than I expected, as I thought it would be pure fluff - however there was more plot and character dynamics and development and that was good. This book would be some people’s heaven, as it reads like a beginners guide to all sorts of kinks and fantasies. I imagine others would really struggle with some of the kinks explored, however. Go in expecting the boundaries to be pushed more in the sex department than typical kinky books available.

My first... not my last

Holy hell!!! 🥵
This is my first MM sci fi and I absolutely loved it!! I finished both books in 2 days. thankfully it was my day off otherwise I might have been pulling a sick day! 😆
Bsolutely brilliant. Makes me wonder if there could be a book 3 on this with Bailey. I love the sound of the Tori's also.
Willing to beg here 😁

Great story. Great performance.

I read the book before the audio was launched. The story is captivating, erotic, sweet, and funny at times. And the readers' performance is exceptional. I was totally emerged in it. I soo hope there will be a part 3 to it.
