About this listen

Young Lisa is caught off guard as she enters into a romantic relationship with Bobby, who she later finds out is addicted to drugs. Her battle with his lifestyle eventually takes an emotional toll on her. She has to decide whether her life is more important than his.

A lot of people find themselves naïve to the real world of dating and relationships, especially when it comes to dating someone a lot older than themselves. I want young people to understand that entering into relationships naively with an older person who they think is fun, or think of as more mature, can cause you to you run into the wrong person whose plan is to manipulate and force you into a world you never knew existed.

Know that it’s never too late to leave once you find out the truth about who you’re dating. What I want you to take from this book is, just because you love someone, it doesn’t mean they will change. Don’t hope they’ll change because your love is strong. That’s being naïve. You need to think with your mind, not your heart, because this is how they take advantage of you. This can happen in all types of relationships, whether you’re older or younger—just know when it’s time to walk away. Right now, I’m speaking to the young people.
