Publisher's Summary

When the four partners of a prominent law firm are killed in a mysterious plane crash, their widows must come together to uncover the truth in this explosive, edge-of-your-seat novel.

It’s 1985 in Providence, Rhode Island, and the four partners of a prominent, mafia-affiliated law firm have been killed in a private jet that went down outside New York City. Four very different women have just lost the loves of their lives: Justine, a former fashion model adjusting to suburban life; Camille, a beautiful, young second wife some suspect is a gold digger; Krystle, committed to leaving the firm to her sons after her husband worked his whole life to support them all; and Meredith, a stripper at the local club who was in a secret relationship with the firm’s sole female partner. While the crash is initially ruled a tragic accident, something’s not adding up: The team wasn’t supposed to be in New York that day, and it’s soon revealed that there was a very large sum of cash that burned up with the plane. The women find themselves thrown together in search of the truth, with new danger and threats unfolding at every turn.

Could a dissatisfied client be seeking revenge? Or were the partners involved in something bigger—something dangerous and deadly? What other secrets were the partners keeping, and how far might people go to ensure they stay hidden? The widows must find the answers in order to protect their inheritance, their families, and their lives.

What a surprise!

Really enjoyed this. Think sopranos style with a dynasty feel. Could imagine more stories with this setting and characters.

Fast paced action

Loved this book. The different characters, different personalities. I could visualize each of them with such detail. The fast pace of the story made it impossible to stop listening. Over in a day! Performance was spot on.

Really enjoyable!

If you liked Erin Brockovich or The First Wives Club, I think you may like this. Beautifully narrated, too.

Fun read

Not Hemingway but not all books have to be. This was the perfect balance of funny, suspenseful and trashy. Loved the performances, especially the person who did Krystal.

Totally Enjoyable

This was a great book. Fast paced and kept me enthralled throughout. The narrators were excellent and really portrayed the unique personalities of the women. If you enjoy Lynda La Plante novels you should enjoy this one.

Waste of time

I wanted to finish it and hoped it would get better. Well, it didn’t.
Shallow, predictable and not believable

Rich, Young, Widows…

Full of ironies, clichés and terrible 80’s references, “Young Rich Widows (sic)”; (More grammatical correctly, should be called,) “Rich, Young, Widows.”…
This (cough) novel was (cough) written by (cough) four women… however, upon listening, and although narrated by four women, it was most probably written by *ONE CREEPY MAN* in the early eighties, with a James Bond fetish.

If you’re looking for 007, but with four female protagonists in haute couture ’ lacy very small, tight, (& uncomfortable) underwear, lesbians and threesomes galore, mobsters, high heels, fur coats… I mean, seriously!?

A very unclassy offering from Audible’s free collection.
