Girl power all the way!
Leigh Bardugo is one of my favorite authors, I just love her stories incredibly. Wonder Woman is also one of my favorite superheroes. So the two joined together, I had high expectations for. I'm not going to lie, I was expecting this to be a lot different than it ended up being... And that's why I'm so surprised to love this so much!
Wonder-Woman: Warbringer is an amazing retelling! It's all about girl power, friendship, family and learning how to be yourself. It's amazingly narrated by Mozhan Marno which I loved the voice!
This book is packed full of action, tension, emotion, and drama! It was oh so good! It was extremely gripping and in the beginning, I thought I knew what was going to happen but somehow the author made me forget that completely? It was quite weird because when the end came, it was what I was expecting but it still surprised me! I was expecting one thing but so much happened that I had no idea!
Another thing perfect in this book is the characters. I love them. There's nothing more to say, I just love any characters Leigh Berdugo creates.
Diana Prince is an incredible, incredible character. I loved her with all my heart! She is easily the best character in the book. I love her way of thinking, how she is just different from everyone else, how she in some things is so naive, how strong hearted (and just plain strong....) she is, how much family and friendship means to her, everything. I just loved everything about her!
I also really liked Alia, in the beginning, I thought she was going to be a bit "unsalted" but she ended up surprising me, and I loved her friends too. They are just all so unique! I really felt connected with them and I have for sure to read all this again because I liked it that much.
And the writing was just gorgeous! I'm always speechless of how even in the middle of all the tension and action there are always moments that make me snort. I love this... Definitely the best superhero story I've read! Definitely, recommend it.

Better than I hoped
What a unexpected read this was. In fairness, I didn’t have a lot of preconceptions, considering my last encounter with Diana Prince was the very old series years ago. It was a exciting read, packed full of action with a great Greek mythological context and background. I didn’t expect the contemporary setting for some reason but it worked really well. I enjoyed seeing Leigh Bardugo’s words set in the contemporary world. The diverse characters were both fun and real. I could really read more from this world and these characters.
The narrator was new to me and she’s captured Diana superbly. I definitely want to listen to more from her.

My most anticipated book of the year
I enjoyed the story, but its strength was the characters and their relationships. The second half is where the action picks up. I just wish the narrator had a bit more emotion to her voice on the more action-packed and heartfelt moments.

Wonder woman - great story
Firstly, this is not a film tie-in. It's a stand-alone story in the Wonder Woman universe. and thus includes super-hero elements along with supernatural/Greek mythological elements.
We meet Diana as a late teen who is still deciding how she fits in with her sister Amazons and with the great unknown world of humans. The story involves her making some really life-changing decisions and how she meets them, and in the process grows as a super-hero and individual. I found that I related to her and her human companions more and more as the story progressed.
It's possibly a pity that the story ends back where it starts, as this seems to preclude WW's further involvement in ("Justice League" business in) the human world. If there is a sequel, I'll certainly like to listen to it. The reader/performer did a nice job, too, nailing the different characters rather well.
