Critic Reviews

The very definition of a page-turner!
Steve Cavanagh's twists hit you between the eyes. You never see them coming
An enthralling mix of whodunnit, courtroom, drama and workplace comedy, which other authors might have seen as job done. Yet Cavanagh ... also gives Ruby her own storyline and lays on a fun, Coenesque subplot about rival hitmen competing to bump off Eddie, further enriching an already multilayered legal thriller.
A masterclass in thriller writing. Absolutely superb (M. W. CRAVEN)
Steve Cavanagh writes the best hooks in the business
This guy is the real deal. Trust me
A fantastic thriller writer
A great author
A thriller that never pauses for breath and sends a shiver down the spine. It is a thrill ride that is impossible to put down.
The real magic is in Steve Cavanagh's hypnotic storytelling power
Cavanagh is a genius
A legal thriller at its very best. Cavanagh weaves mischief and mayhem with every intricate twist of this fantastic plot.
An epic legal drama

Cavanagh is able to inject new life into the familiar tropes of the thriller genre. He also knows that like any movie or song worth its salt, a book needs a good opening to hook the audience in, and Witness 8 has a great one ... The only drawback of Witness 8 is how quickly you'll fly through it and then be left impatiently awaiting Flynn's next outing.
Steve Cavanagh has made a thoroughly appealing character our of Eddie and it is impossible not to root for him, whatever he does. The ingenuity of the lawyer's planning and the skill with which he executes his scemes are among the highlights of this fast-moving, funny, touching and occasionally horrifying tale. Cavanagh writes with a light hand and a quick wit.
Another rollercoaster of a ride
Gripping stuff
Dark and dazzling
A masterfully crafted legal drama ... Cavanagh delivers a gripping tale of intrigue and courtroom tension ... with his trademark twists, complex characters and relentless pacing, this will keep readers on the edge of their seats.
A deadly game ensues in this dark, dazzling crime thriller
The Eddie Flynn novels go from strength to strength. Steve Cavanagh's ability to keep a thriller plot singing along is second to none. In Witness 8, Eddie and his crew find themselves embroiled in another adrenalin-fuelled, scorpion-by-the-tail legal rollercoaster. The best legal thriller series since Michael Connelly's Mickey Haller novels.

Love this series of books and this one did not disappoint. Great storyline with more than a hint of greed narcissism and psychopathy. Looking forward to Eddie’s next appearance in court. Highly recommended

I have so missed loosing myself in Eddie Flynn thrillers. Witness 8 is a classic and one hell of a ride. I hope there will soon be a new Eddie Flynn for me to binge. Such a brilliant series and characters to live fir all their character strengths and flaws.

Eddie The Fly at his creative best

Eddie Flynn is a combination of John Grisham stories and Jack Reacher. The ex conman has a great supporting cast of misfits who work together to defend innocent defendents.

Great story . Hard to out down

Another fantastic Eddie Flynn story

Highly contrived but entertaining plot that paves the way for yet another instalment of the Flynn saga. Prose crisp. Pacing good. Quick and easy read. I found Mr Cavanagh’s last two a little disappointing. This suggests there’s life left in him yet. Either that, or I’m getting less fussy with age.

False witness

Geez, I love this series! Nobody does it quite like Cavanagh! And great narration, as always, by Adam Sims.

Reliably Outstanding!
