Story
Jodie Jackson is leaving her London life, her career and her husband behind. She'd like a chance to turn back the clocks, but she'll settle for some peace and quiet on her brother Bill's houseboat. But from the moment Jodie steps aboard her new home, it's clear she'll struggle to keep herself to herself. If it isn't Marilyn, who cleans for Bill and is under strict instructions to look after Jodie, then it's Ned, the noisy sculptor on the next-door houseboat. Ned's wood carving is hard on the ears, but it's made up for by the fact that he's rather easy on the eyes.

Story
Molly Baker is living her best life. Thirty-eight years old, she lives on the 25-acre Hope Farm in Buckinghamshire, surrounded by (mostly) four-legged friends and rolling hills. An ex-teacher, Molly runs the farm as an alternative education for kids who have special needs or behavioural issues. It's full on, but she wouldn't have it any other way. So when the well-groomed Shelby Dacre turns up at Hope Farm asking to enrol his son Lucas, Molly isn't fazed. But Lucas is distant, and soon Molly realises he might be more of a handful than she anticipated.

Story
Between tending to the whims of her seven-year-old and the demands of her boss, Viv barely gets a moment to herself. It’s not quite the life she wanted, but she hasn’t run screaming for the hills yet. But then Viv’s husband, Andy, makes his midlife crisis her problem. He’s having an affair with his (infuriatingly age-appropriate) colleague, a woman who - unlike Viv - doesn’t put on weight when she so much as glances at a cream cake. Viv suddenly finds herself single, with zero desire to mingle.

Not Carole Mathews best
I enjoyed this book but I’ve read better books by this author. The narrator was great at the British accents but her American accent was terrible. I can imagine it really grating on some people.

An enjoyable read
A cleverly written story that made me giggle out loud in parts which was a nice balance to the sad bits; the story line wasn't as predictable as you might originally think. The mixed American accent had me cringing a bit unfortunately. But overall a good book.

Enjoyable Story
You know how sometimes you want to just listen to a good story? Not a murder mystery, not a Sci Fi thriller, just a nice story. This is it. OK, it's a love story, but it's well written, there's a bit of adventure and several laugh out loud moments. It was one of those books where I looked for ways to find alone time to listen because I couldn't wait to hear what happened next. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Great story as always
This is one of the 1st carole Matthews books I read, so was excited to find out it was on audio. Haven't read it in ages so couldn't remember the plot straight away. But now listening to it I remember its good book to listen to while going for my walks , and Julia Barrie brings the books alive.I'm slowly buying all carole audio books as loving reading them but never get enough hours in the day to read.. so downloading a audio is great..
