Another great John Buchan story but this time with Scottish History

The story is largely set in the 1600’s and covers the sectarianism that set back Scotland perhaps forever as a separate country. The story winds history and storytelling well . Needs some attention to the language which uses many Scottish words no longer in use but worth persevering.
