About this listen

The brand new novella in the Sunday Times #1 bestselling Rivers of London series.

****

THEY DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY ACROSS THE POND...

When ex-FBI Agent Patrick Henderson calls in an 'X-Ray Sierra India' incident, the operator doesn't understand. He tells them to pass it up the chain till someone does.

That person is FBI Special Agent Kimberley Reynolds. Arriving snowbound Northern Wisconsin, she finds that a tornado has flattened half the town - and there's no sign of Henderson.

Things soon go from weird to worse, as neighbours report unsettling sightings, key evidence goes missing, and the snow keeps rising - cutting off the town, with no way in or out...

As the clues lead to the coldest of cold cases - a cursed expedition into the frozen wilderness - Reynolds follows a trail from the start of the American nightmare, to the horror that still lives on today...

This is a different voice and a slightly different perspective from the main Rivers of London series. Still great storytelling and adds further dimensions to this fictional world

Great

I loved this addition to the ROL series. Scooby-doo vibes with the storyline and appreciated the introduction of themes around indigenous culture and climate change.

Loved it

Somewhat surprised to find out this was not another tale of thee Abteilung KDA but a case for Fbi agent Kimberly Reynolds on home soil.
Equally very entertaining and exciting, like all the other Rivers of London books.
Highly recommended.

Wonderful storyline and well read. So descriptive it brings the concept to life perfectly. Expands the series in a clever but inclusive manner

Fabulous

love the story and the characters but really wish it had been read by a genuine American voice actor. the other books in the RoL series were so excellently performed.

genuine accents please

While we are all awaiting the next Peter Grant story, this one has been an excellent distraction. Loved the story, the characters and the delivery.

A great spin off

Story ok. Found the narrator grating ad not endearing to really want to support the character

Didn’t love the narrator

I was looking forward to this novella, having indulged in the entire ‘Rivers of London’ audio offering. I do not fault the story, but the reader was disappointing.
When comparing to the great work of Cobnar Holbrook Smith, this is quite off-putting. Vocal tone was annoyingly whiny and nasal. Pronunciation such as ‘lie-berry’ for library, grated repeatedly.
This was more of a ‘reading’ than a ‘performance ‘with little change in vocal tone or intensity, between life and death action scenes and descriptions of romantic liaison.

Presentation/ performance is disappointing.

Great Rivers Of London side story along the lines of “What Abigail Did Last Summer” and “October Man”. If you’ve enjoyed the ROL universe, then this is another rollicking read!

Great ROL Side Story
