I really enjoy this narrator for certain books, especially in more natural situations and less overtop storylines, so I gave this a go, since I remembered enjoying JH when I was much younger. I was prepared to listen with grain of salt, figuring it might be very dated in terms of storyline and Male-female relationships and roles. But I was pleasantly surprised, I enjoyed not just the telling of this sweet tale, but the sweet tale itself. Not silly, not over dramatised. the scenes were well described, and I thought the female lead was a lot of fun, and really well portrayed by Male narrator. also enjoyed the byplay between the leads in the slowly building connection between them. Enjoyed enough that I will listen to/read more in this series.

surprisingly entertaining
