Publisher's Summary

From the internationally best-selling author of The Simple Wild comes the continuation of a woman's journey to Alaska and a life she never imagined for herself.

Calla Fletcher returns to Toronto a different person, struggling to find direction and still very much in love with the rugged bush pilot she left behind. When Jonah arrives on her doorstep with a proposition she can't dismiss, she takes the leap and rushes back to Alaska to begin their exciting future together.

But Calla soon learns that even the best intentions can lead to broken promises, and that compromise comes with a hefty price - a log cabin in rural Alaska that feels as isolating as the western tundra.

With Jonah gone more than he's home, one neighbor who insists on transforming her into a true Alaskan, and another who seems more likely to shoot her than come to her aid, Calla grapples with forging her own path. In a world with roaming wildlife that has her constantly watching over her shoulder and harsh conditions that stretch far beyond the cold, dark, winter months, just stepping outside her front door can be daunting.

This is not the future Calla had in mind, leaving her to fear that perhaps she is doomed to follow in her mother's fleeing footsteps after all.

I'm a sucker for any book set in Alaska and for K.A. Tucker's writing so this series is a double win for me. I liked this book in a very different way than I loved book 1. This one was a lot less emotional for me and had more about Alaska. I liked that this book picks right up where book 1 ended. Calla & Jonah's story is sweet with some bumps along the way but they are mature and they work things out. That made me like this even more because the author told their story without the need for extra drama. I also loved all the side characters in this book. My favorite kind of side character is a grumpy old man that makes a new friend and shows his softer side. In the end book 1 had me in tears and book 2 made my heart smile. The narration was perfect.

Boring.

Neither the story nor the actor kept me interested. I thought it would be more about the trials of living in Alaska, but it read more like a dime store romance.

book 2 just as good as book 1

Now we need a book 3 for "THE" Wedding!!!! YES PLEASE!!!! K.A Tucker has a great way of telling a story where I feel like I'm the lead character. I feel every word she is writing as my own emotions.

Great read!! When is book 3 being released?!!!

So much I loved about this book. Relating to her roller coaster of emotions, knowing how cranky old men are, the way the author clearly writes the landscape up there down to the relationships she begins to form. I think I’ll be adding Alaska as a place to visit in the next 5 years!! Love the way the author wrote this book and praying she releases a 3rd.

Five Stars

One of my favorite listens this year. I don't have time to leave a full review because I'm booking some plane tickets to Alaska.

The yeti

🎧🎧🎧📚 "I can't remember what it feels like not being in love with you, Calla.." . QODT:How do you feel about sequels? For me it is a huge vote of confidence, because if the first one was terrific, you are going to want the same of the second. . This story Is about the life of Jonah and Calla at the wild Alaska. At first i was struggling with the story, too slow for me. So i switch to audio. And the miracle happened ♥️ . I enjoyed the story,i laugh with the day a day of Calla and her "pets", i swoon with this Yeti ,so loveable ,so hot. . Also reminds me of the support of the comunity, the people born and raise, all the stories and their past, and their unconditionally friendship. . I particular love Roy story, and his grumpy face, and laugh with Muriel and Toby.. . "I can't ever lose You Calla..". . "I will always find my way back to you.." . ".. But that's who he is. He'll always be wild at heart. And there is no way to tame or change him..." It's a great read. I can't imagine what is like to left your city and move to this so far away place. Calla was brave, I have to gave her that. I'm beginning to fall for Alaska...♥️♥️♥️ #bookreader #booksy #booknerd #bookworld #bookclubsofinstagram #bookreader #bookish #bookaddict #bookaholic #allaboutbooks #katucker

Welp I'm a NYC girl ready to move to Alaska.

Thanks for a great book, KA Tucker always keeps me engaged. I've been more and more interested in Alaska since that last book and was so thrilled this one didn't let me down.

Loved it

I liked the first book and LOVED the second one. I really enjoyed how this book focused on her coming into her own self.

enjoyed it, good conclusion

I really enjoyed the conclusion of this novel, however I do not think it is as good and magical as the first one.
