I never told my story before because I wasn't ready. Now, finally, I am.
25 years ago, The Spice Girls, a girlband that began after answering an advert in the paper, released our first single. 'Wannabe' became a hit and from that moment, my life changed for ever.
I was suddenly part of one of the biggest music groups in history, releasing hit after hit, performing to our wonderful fans and spreading the message of Girl Power to the world. It was everything I'd dreamed of growing up, and I've had some incredible times... The BRITs! The movie! Travelling the world playing iconic venues like Madison Square Garden, The O2, Wembley Stadium and The London 2012 Olympics!!!
When you're a woman, though, that power can be easily taken away by those around you, whether by pressure, exhaustion, shaming, bullying or a constant feeling like you aren't enough. I have been known as Sporty Spice, Mel C, Melanie C or just plain old Melanie Chisholm, but what you will read within the pages of this book is who I truly am, and how I found peace with that after all these years.

Throughly enjoyed Mel C’s story .. loved going back to the 90’s & celebrating girlpower … Fame does come at a price & the British Tabs were brutal.
Her adventures , performances honesty are well worth showing up for . Great listen well done Mel C .

Enjoyable & informative
I really enjoyed listening to this book via audible. Mel C is a natural story teller. It was a joy to listen to her life journey, she allowed us to really see & feel what she experienced by being vulnerable and so down to earth.
I wasn't even much of a spice girls fan although over the years I have liked alot of their songs, listening to this book has given me a whole new appreciation for them though.
Well worth reading or listening to.

Loved this soooo much
I loved listening to Melanies voice as she gently told her warts and all fascinating life story. She spoke so beautifully - so polished. And omg how honest she is - I was moved to tears a few times. I connected with so much of her story and have “been there”. I’m so proud of her for telling her story though. It was clearly not easy but I’m sure it will help so many people in so many unexpected ways. Just hearing about what it’s actually like to be suddenly mega famous (from the inside) was soooo interesting and yet totally understandable. I’d forgotten how massive Spice girls were (I was a fan!) The book was a walk down memory lane for me too. I’ve been watching all the old videos she references and I’m going to buy some albums I missed too like Sea and Melanie C. Enjoy people!! Love you Mel X

Great book and wonderfully read
I absolutely loved listening to Mel read this book - it’s amazing how we perceive how someone’s life is whilst being famous. She has had some battles but came through it to tell her story. Fabulous book 10/10

Worth a listen to
To be honest it took a bit of time to get used to Mel C’s narration style but after awhile it was pleasant. She really is an honest and slightly misunderstood person and I am glad I pursued this listen.

Spice Up Your Life!
Listening to Mel C tell stories about being a pop star back in the 90s was absolutely fascinating. So much I didn't know about it all, and I'm shocked to hear her story. A must for Spice Girls fans.
