didn't inspire me

couldn't quite see this as a convincing story. there was a lot of seesawing back and forth with both hero and heroine. the hero lost the alpha persona in my opinion and there was a lot of angst and guilt that in this type of story should be there, but I didn't feel that the author pulled it off, I just felt it was going in circles, unlike book 1 and definitely book 4. if you love babies and all that goes with it, then this will delight you.... I think pipers story will redeem Ms Christy.....for me anyway

Best Romance I've read in a long time!

OK I have to say I started by the description on audible not knowing if I was going to like this book...BOY was I wrong! This book has been such a refreshing change from every other romance I have been listening to. It truly felt like a unique story among a million regurgitated ones.

Skylar is stuck in a cycle of self sabotage. She drink to much she parties and only does one night stands with perfect strangers. When she wakes up in the bed of a man she can't remember only to realize as she looks around that he is married and has kids she knows somethings gotta give because this a new low. Time to make some big life changes. with the help of her sisters and her best friend she comes of with the idea of being a surrogate so she is finally forces to stick to the program of no drinking, no men, do something positive for someone else.

Erin is a cancer survivor but lost her ability to have children during her fight to beat it. She has wanted children her whole life and Skylar is the answer. Erin Is as sweet as they come beautiful inside and out.

Griffin if a hott photographer and Erin's devoted husband! he has been with her since high school Griffin grew up taking care of his mother though her cancer. So there was no way he would ever leave Erin to deal with hers when he loved her too.

When all three met up and Sklar fell of her chair Erin declared it fate and their beautiful friendship began. I don't want to get too spiolery but this book ugh I cried so much! This book is about love, true friendships Guilt and grief and living each moment of your life. Its about change, finding self worth and getting through those dark days to see sun on the horizon. I absolutely recommend this book Its definitely worth buying or using a credit. this was the first Samantha Christy book and am looking for ward to my next on based on this!

*I did receive this book for my honest review

I wanted to love this

I loved Purple Orchids so much that I wanted to love this one too. Unfortunately, it was 98% of nothing but the inner musings of an over-thinking, whiny female. Nothing exciting or endearing until the very end.

Griffin & Erin//Griffin & Skylar

*****Review contains spoilers*****

Audible review. Dual POV (Griffin & Skylar). Book 2 of 3 in the Mitchell Sisters trilogy. I really enjoyed Gary Furlong's narration but Lauren Sweet's nasally voice really grated on my nerves. This trilogy is 3 standalones bound together by the three main character sisters. This particular book is a surrogate to mother romance. Trigger warnings: two women die of cancer; Griffin's dad became an alcoholic and ran away when his wife had cancer; Erin has already beaten stage 2 cervical cancer by having a hysterectomy before going into early menopause only to later die from a brain tumor; Skylar's dad's mom was killed by a drunk driver when he was 9.

Skylar is a 24 year old woman, born on February 29th, running her parents' second restaurant in NYC while screwing everyone available. Her older sister is Baylor from book 1 'Purple Orchids.' After finding out another one-night-stand isn't single, she seeks the council of her group of female friends at a girls' night. She's grown tired of her meaningless life and wants to redeem herself and do something meaningful. One of the ladies recommends she become a surrogate, Baylor insists she wait and think it over. After taking a short time (I think it was 2 weeks) Skylar's mind is made up and she meets Griffin & Erin (both 27 years old). Griffin & Erin met in high school. Griffin's mom died from breast cancer when he was 15 years old. He watched his mom struggle when his dad turned to alcohol and disappeared to cope with his wife's illness. He gets a shot at dating Erin after she had a flat tire and he helped her. Erin got cervical cancer when she was 18. After chemo didn't work she had to have a hysterectomy and then went into early menopause. Griffin stuck by Erin and the two were married after college. Erin is now a 2nd grade teacher and Griffin is a popular photographer. Erin worked hard to convince Griffin to try for adoption but with her history of cancer they've been denied. Because of Erin's cancer & menopause they ask Skylar to not only be their surrogate but the biological mother of their baby. Skylar agrees. After the 2nd attempt, they're successful. Erin & Skylar quickly bond over the pregnancy and Erin tells Skylar she's her best friend. Small things start to happen to Erin that go ignored by both Skylar & Griffin until Erin collapses while with Skylar. Erin tells Griffin then Skylar that she has a brain tumor that will kill her and then tells first Skylar then Griffin that her dying wish is that they raise the baby together. Erin lives 6 weeks longer and her friends and family celebrate her life with her before she succumbs to the brain tumor. Erin was even allowed to be present for the birth of Gavin & Baylor's daughter Jordan Christine McBride. The night of Erin's memorial Griffin & Skylar are intimate for the first time sending both of them into a guilty tailspin. Skylar shuts down for two weeks before telling Baylor what happened, Baylor immediately brings Skylar a letter from Erin. Griffin runs away to Florida for 2 months until his best friend Mason shows up to give him his letter from Erin. When Griffin returns home he finds Skylar on a date with a liquor distributor from the restaurant and is forced to win her back. Griffin quickly comes up with a plan that isn't very successful but in the end Skylar gives birth to their son Aaron and is engaged to Griffin. JP

Have the tissues ready!

Wow! If you need a good ugly cry then this is the book for you. Samantha Christy has beautifully and poignantly woven a story of love, loss, fate, and family in this second book of the series. It is definitely an emotional roller coaster ride but due to fate and circumstances beyond control and not because of poor choices or bad behavior by any of the characters. Skylar and Griffin are put through the emotional ringer but the HEA is worth it in the end. Lauren Sweet and Gary Furlong nailed the difficult narration that this required and mastered the range of emotions necessary to bring this incredible story to life. **FYI if cancer is a no-go topic for you then you should not read/listen to this book. It will rip your heart out and then put it back together, but may be too much for some.

LILIES

Loved this story. Hearing Erin's story about cancer and the Griffin about his mom, made we think how much this would really turn Skylar around and her way of thinking. Enjoyed book 2 as much as book 1. Now to finish the series.

When life throws major curveballs......

This is a brilliant book brought to life by Lauren and Gary, just make sure you have a good supply of tissues handy.

The second in the Mitchell Sisters series.

Skylar decides to make some major changes to the manic life she is leading, by offering to be a surrogate for Erin and Griffin. However things do not go according to plan.

When life throws the worst possible obstacles at you and then decides to throw a few more curveballs just for god measure. This is a major pull on the heartstrings.

Part of fantastic trilogy, a must read followed by the stone Brothers. Can be read as standalone but would recommend reading in order so’s not to get spoilers to get the full effect.

so beautiful

I know this book is the second in a series. And damn i normaly dont like to feel like im missing out on importent info in a book. But this book. i could live just fine without it. i lived so fine without it that i know i will come back to this story to get book 1 and 3.
There is one thing to make a sure 5 star book for me. Can you make me cry in public over what i am hearing, then you got it. This book ripped my heard out. The sorrow the longing the energi, the loss. So well written. It drew me in so Deep that i just couldnt put it away.
Where im from you cant surrogate for another woman. Not by law anyway. So the Whole topic is not everyday for me. but maybe it is why it really strike me as a really selfless thing to do. To breed a baby for another person is beonde amazing.
I can only say that this book really got to me. One of the better surprices when you come by a new to you. What a gem for me to have found

Fate...Faith...Family....

I absolutely loved this story. I started listening to this Audio book last night while on my shift and I couldn't get rid of my staff quick enough to carry on listening. Such a beautiful story. There were tears...LOADS of tears that my staff caught me rubbing away but there were also happy moments that had me laughing and smiling from ear to ear. When Sky decided to change her life around and gift a couple the one thing they desired most and couldn't have...i knew that she deserved happiness in the end. I take my hat off to any woman who can do what she did and I respect the hell out of her too. Griffith is an amazing character too. To be able to love not just 1 but 2 woman unconditionally after the pain and suffering he has had too endure... Wish more men were like him. I don't want to give to much away because this is a must for anyone who enjoys a beautiful love story. Get the tissues ready because you will need them. Thank you Samantha for an unforgettable story. loved this book very much.
