About this listen

Straight guys don’t have crushes on other dudes, right?

Except my roommate, Whit, is intriguing, and I find myself watching him constantly. He’s a mystery I can’t figure out and these feelings I’m having about him are confusing.

Then, one night, I find myself wrapped around him, and after that, I can't get enough.

But Whit has secrets. He doesn’t let people in, and the more I fall for him, the less I know.

I can't let him go, though. Until I realize I’m going to be the one broken at the end of our story.

Big, buff, and cheery, Caleb van Beek is intrigued by his introverted college roommate, Whit Cristian. Despite the fact that Caleb is straight, he finds himself drawn to the complex and secretive Whit. Before long, Caleb is fully committed to their fledgling relationship even though Whit seems to blow hot and cold. Their chemistry is mind-blowing and Caleb has slowly gotten Whit to lower his defences, but there’s still a big secret that might derail the good thing they have going.

I’ve seen some angry reactions to this grumpy / sunshine romance but I loved the fairytale nature of it. Caleb is one of the most delightful characters I’ve come across and Cora Rose does a good line in these fun, humorous, carefree guys. Whit is complicated and harder to love but I could sympathise with his screwed up childhood and unloving parents and I could forgive his secretive nature—he just wanted a chance at happiness and got in too deep. This isn’t a perfect story but it was moving, sexy, and extremely entertaining. 🎧 Part of why I loved this so much is voice actor Alexander Cendese (as Caleb), he always does such a great job and he’s a perfect match for the party-hard college dude characters. Liam DiCosimo (as Whit) was also well-cast and the two deliver a great audio!!

Heart, heart & humour—loved this fun, angsty tale!

I really enjoyed this book. I loved both main characters and the chemistry between them was exquisite. Both narrators were perfect for the characters and brought them to life. I can't wait to read the new book.

Great book!!

Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙

My only minor qualm is, and this is most likely a me thing, I didn't get a good picture in my mind of the characters. Again there's a good chance that this is poor comprehension on my part, but usually with books I like as much as this, I'm able to get a good picture in my mind of who these guys are and what they look like. But not so much this time. That was the only teeny tiny drawback. I still wholeheartedly reccomend it and already miss the story.

Well written - made me laugh a lot. Caleb's naturalness and trust were swoon worthy. The tragedy that was Whits life is sobering. Had a few tears too but thats what usually confirms how good a book is for me. So glad there is a HEA

The narration was just annoying. The characters were unrealistic and unbelievable. I was bored and couldn’t finish it.

Childish rubbish
