Book #3 is an excellent conclusion, wrapping up story lines and rounding out character arcs. I found myself rationing the final chapters, not wanting the story to end.
As a series, it is superb. To directly quote Lyon, these books take you on a journey of “hurts, heartaches, wins and losses, happiness and sorrows and everything in between.” The characters are real, fallible and inspiring. The various relationships genuine. The story telling uncompromisingly raw. And at the heart of it, is a tale of two authentic and strong women who share an intoxicating, tender, and beautiful love. “The Senator’s Wife” series is fiction writing at its finest.
Superb.

My main critique is the narration—specifically the attempt at an Australian accent, which drifted between Irish and something trying to sound Australian. It was distracting and a bit irritating at first, though eventually you get used to it.
The storyline itself is strong, but the intimate scenes were a letdown. They felt generic and lacked the heat or emotional pull you expect from moments meant to be passionate. They didn’t quite draw you in the way the rest of the relationship building did.
Despite that, the series is definitely worth listening to. The emotional tension, the evolving connection between the characters, and the overall plot make it a great experience—just one that could’ve used a little more steam.
Finally finished book 3
