About this listen

Your deceased loved ones are only a whisper away.

They are still here, still with you, even though you cannot see them.

Unlike you, I can see them just fine.

People call me weird, crazy even, but I only want to help the souls who are trapped in between and the loved ones they leave behind. Until my good intentions get me locked away and leave me broken and traumatized. So much so that I swear to never talk to a spirit again.

A road trip through the country—driving away from a home that has nothing left for me—and a night spent in the arms of tequila, help me find myself in the embrace of a strong and handsome fisherman with ocean blue eyes.

The same ocean blue eyes his three brothers have, including the one who is a ghost. He needs my help, but can I leave the shadows of my shackles behind to ensure he will find the light?

Whisper Waves is a medium-burn, spicy, why-choose, paranormal romance. It is the first book of the Soulful Seas Duet and ends on a cliffhanger.

WOW. Just… wow.

I usually steer clear of ghost stories—especially the romantic kind (thanks a lot, Casper and Ghost for setting impossibly high standards).

But Blake Black has completely turned me around with this stunning series that reminded me just how incredible ghosty-romance can be.

I honestly can’t remember the last time a series made me cry this much. I was full-on sobbing—to the point that my partner had to keep checking on me while I devoured these books. There were so many tears—happy, heartbroken, everything in between. Fair warning: if you’re even remotely emotional, have a support human ready. This story will wreck you (in the best way).

Even though my little neurodivergent brain managed to predict a few things, it didn’t take away from the experience at all—I still couldn’t stop reading until I saw it all unfold. I genuinely didn’t want it to end.

The characters? Loved every single one of them. Each brought something unique, and I fell for them all for totally different reasons.

Oh, and definitely grab the audiobooks! The narrators are phenomenal. My only wish? That it had been done in duet style—especially for the spicy scenes. That would’ve really brought the heat!

Blake Black is officially on my author following list now. I’ve already loaded more of their books onto my TBR.

But first? I need to go re-watch Casper and Ghost… and cry all over again.

Absolutely captivating! Definitely worth missing sleep for. The characters, the story, the romance and just perfection!

I’m not very comfy with comparisons- every protag and author are different, even in subtle ways- but to me, this book feels like Koontz’s Odd Thomas but with sex. Hawttt sex! The sultry voices are well suited to their respective characters.

Well written even though the FMMM trope is the standard fare. Bawling my eyes so much that I told the teenager that it’s just perimenopause, haha. The second half was an ugly snotfest for me.
I loved the feminine perspective of a medium.

I’m buying book 2 if that indicates the readability.

Who’s cutting onions in here?
