Publisher's Summary

When the director of a local mental health hospital is found murdered and mutilated, Homicide Detective Reed Davies is first on scene. What was done to the body is gruesome. Inexplicable. But Reed is dealt another curveball when he finds that the doctor who discovered the victim is someone Reed is intimately familiar with - a woman with whom he shared one passionate night weeks before.

Dr. Elizabeth Nolan is somehow tangled up in the crime, and even while Reed must now question her possible involvement, he can’t help being drawn to the beautiful, enigmatic woman.

As more bodies appear and the devious killer terrorizes Cincinnati, a shocking connection begins to emerge, one that not only involves Dr. Nolan, but Reed himself. A connection more twisted and elaborate than he can imagine. Now Reed must hunt the monster down, a killer who will stop at nothing to see his diabolical plan to its final, deadly conclusion.

The follow-up to Where the Blame Lies - Where the Truth Lives is a gripping, pause-resisting, romantic thriller that will leave you gasping for breath.

✫✫ 4.5 Stars ✫✫

I loved this book as much as the first book in the series. I had no idea what a book 2 would be like and who the main characters would be but when it started I was so happy to have Reed's story. I felt like getting his story helped with a little closure into book 1 and where things left off between him and Josie. I really like these strong characters that Mia Sheridan creates and I also thoroughly enjoy the push and pull that she does with the mystery that keeps making me change my mind about who is doing what. This book kept me on my toes the entire way though and I thought the ending was perfect. I also really enjoyed how together these characters are considering their past. I don't love drama so this was perfect for my taste. I can't wait for more romantic suspense by this author in the future. It's no surprise to me but again I loved the narration. Teddy has the perfect voice for a good guy and he was perfect for Reed. Callie was also great.

Very intense suspense thriller!

WHERE THE TRUTH LIES is a sequel to Where the Blame Lies by Mia Sheridan. I recommend the earlier novel be listened to first although the current novel is set a generation later. Both novels have intense suspense even though the protagonists are different. The protagonists in Where the Blame Lies were Josie Stratton and Zach Copeland. They are years older in Where the Truth Lies and are very much part of the story. Josie's son Reed Davies and his giorlfriend Liza Noland are the protagonists of Where the Truth Lives. Be aware that this novel has strong elements of a romance novel including graphic sex scenes. The same narration duo returns from Where the Blane Lies. They do a great job.

5 AMAZING Stars!!!

I absolutely loved it! It’s a little different from my normal listens but Mia Sheridan always hits it out of the park! I had just finished Where the Blame Lies and couldn’t wait to start Where the Truth Lives. I love a good mystery but hate when you can guess it by the ending. This is absolutely not one of those books. Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton did a fantastic job narrating! Their performances along with the storyline had me so hooked I couldn’t put it down until I had finished it.

Where the truth lives is so great! I had listened to where the Blame Lies a long time ago but had to listen to it again before I read this to refresh my memory and I loved it so much so reading this book was amazing getting to know what happened to the caricatures in the first book and loving a new set of caricatures in this book ,Mia Sheridan thank you keep up the great work!

She Stuns one again

It’s no surprise how talented Mia Sheridan is yet I am continually blown away at how her writing strengthens and grows with each new release. I can’t wait to see what she has for us next. This book was so well thought out and planned; masterfully crafted and poignantly written. Loved it. Highly Recommend.

Great story and wonderful narration..

I loved this book! It was sad and happy and exciting and had feelings of fear and anguish, but mostly a growing love between Reed and Liza. It was about two serial killers, one of them from the first book, Where the Blame Lies and one that had been killing for years, 28 women dug up on his property. AND he was doing his best to teach his grandsons his killing ways. There was 2 sex scenes and the F-bomb was used 62 times. As for the narration: Teddy Hamilton and Callie Dalton (although his name was spelled wrong. It's Hamilton not Hamiton,) did a fantastic job on the voices and their emotions.

Heart pounding read!

Reed Davies, son of Josie from the first story in this series, is a homicide detective, called to the scene of a gruesome crime that was discovered by Elizabeth Nolan (Liza). Her boss has been murdered and his mutilated body is just the beginning of a story about being hinted at by the offender. When more bodies are found, all killed in s similar way, a connection begins to form between each of them, including Liza. Reed and Liza have been spending a lot of time together and things have grown into something more than friendship. They both have really interesting back stories which makes their connection even more special, they know what it feels like to have suffered loss and the grief that goes with that. As Reed gets closer to discovering who is behind all of these senseless killings, he also realises that Liza’s life may now be in danger, it is truly a race against time to find who is responsible for this terrible killing spree. There is no beating around the bush with this story, things happen right in the beginning that bring the two main characters into each other's lives fairly quickly and it does not slow down until the thrilling, heart pounding end.

Had to know how the story ended

I had just finished the first book in this series, Where The Blame Lies, and needed to listen to this one next to see what happened. Listened to the entire thing in 2 days. I enjoyed it even more than the first one and was sad when it ended! I’m going to be looking for more of Mia Sheradon’s books to listen to next. (P.S- if I could change one thing about this series, it would be to leave out so much of the swearing, especially taking the Lords name in vain. I really don’t appreciate that and cringed so many times.)

The 1st book was 5 stars but this one is even better!!!!!

This is everything you want a mystery/romantic suspense to be!!! Mia Sheridan I hope you write more books like this! This one is even better than the first. It’s so good. A great mystery, real suspense, and romance. It’s so hard to find books like this. Please please please write more!!!! The first book had some deep sadness and although this one has sadness it’s not like the 1st book and not as much either. It was just the right amount I think. I love the narrators! Teddy Hamilton is a huge favorite and Callie Dalton was really good! Highly recommend!
