I read this book right after finishing the first one in series. I loved this one just as much! I was curious to see how the author would turn around the Duke's character when he had such a negative first impression from the first book, but it was done really well. In fact I found myself empathising with him and understanding why he did the awful things he did. The author is a master at developing whole, humanised, flawed-yet-endearing characters, and matching them with each other for a romance that is far deeper than mere attraction. Gives me all the happy feels! Can't wait to read more.
