Publisher's Summary

The past haunts them. Treachery awaits them. Love will save them.

A shattered lass....

Scarred by the cruel whims of her late husband, Lena MacLeod lives in fear of men and marriage. So when the king's edict obliges her to wed Scottish warrior Alex MacLean, she never expects to feel safe, let alone happy. But behind Alex's fierce exterior lies a gentle, gallant highlander who renews her soul, emboldens her, and offers her the one thing she never thought she would possess - true love. Now that Alex has her whole heart, she'll settle for nothing less than all of his.

A tortured highlander....

Haunted by violent nightmares of his dark past, Alex MacLean has put off getting married for as long as possible. But now he finds himself the husband of the fragile, beautiful Lena, and he's drawn to her as he has never been to another. He vows to protect and heal her, and as she grows stronger, so does his love for her. Yet, his horrible memories and a treacherous task are preventing him from giving himself to her entirely, and the secrets he harbors threaten to destroy their life together.

A union....

When Lena uncovers a dangerous scheme involving Alex, she embarks on a desperate journey to save the man she loves. But Alex still hasn't let her in, and he runs the risk of losing her - and his life - unless he can accept that his once delicate wife is now an ally strong enough to light his way.

Page Turner

When a Warrior Woos a Lass is definitely a page turner. The characters are realistic. I could see the situations in my mind's eye as though I were there. The emotions are described wonderfully. Alex and Lena seem destined to never have a meeting of both their minds and hearts, and situations and circumstances seem destined to thwart any understanding or resolution between them. With extreme evil of a former mate and a commander haunting them, can they ever learn to trust one another? Can they ever learn to love one another? This audio book is absolutely fascinating from beginning to end. Loved it!

Handsome highlanders

Julie has done it again, this whole series has been amazing. It has everything beautiful wild countryside, brave highland warriors set to defend their equally brave lassies. Wether you are new to the genre or looking for something different this series will captivate you. This story brings together the tortured souls of Lena & Alex whose scared lives draw them together. By sharing their pasts they are able to banish their demons. I can not recommend this book enough. Though if you need more then listening to it being narrated by the wonderful Tim Campbell will definitely warm your heart. He is by far the best narrator around, his voice transports you to the highlands of Scotland, you feel the story through his voice. As a Scot myself I can tell you his accents are first class.

Loved it

Dark like book 2 but worth it. Alex and Lena are both wounded but find redemption and love with each other. They may come out of the PTSD a bit quick but this is fiction. I think the handling of abuse on both sides was well done overall...it is romantic fiction after all. I recommend.

Great series!

I really have liked this family and these books. I hate for them to end! They all make great couples and how they get together, the plots and tensions are good. I recommend.

When a Warrior Woos a Lass

I appreciated the series and also Tim Campbell's narration is wondetful. The subject of abuse of children , women and men as well, unfortunately continues till this day. I appreciated the way out hero gently healed Leah and worked to gain her trust. And then for her to do the same for Alex. The darkness of abuse is difficult to overcome. BUT as seen in this story can be healed. This a well written series worth reading. It is full of action human frailties and strength. Love d it

Lena and Alex's Story 4.5 stars

Another good installment. Lena's first marriage was awful, now her life will change and Alex's had a terrible life when he was younger that still affected him as a man. . Once again from the very beginning the story holds your attention. The chemistry between Lena and Alex and the support they give each other is endearing. You will enjoy this story.

Brilliant

Best one yet. Loved every one of the books but I think this one was the best so far. The narrator is brilliant. He narrates the Scottish accents so well. And besides having a really nice deep voice for the warriors he also has a feminine one for the women. Best narrator so far. Looking forward to the next one. And hope there are more to come after the 9th one. As I love that the rest of the family are always included in each story. Please keep the same narrator.
