Publisher's Summary

An unlikely couple must decide what truly defines family.

Gentry Cabot’s rebellious life comes to a screeching halt when a one-night stand leads to a sobering new reality: motherhood. Exhausted and overwhelmed, the former wild child struggles to raise an infant on her own. After a lifetime of feeling like the odd Cabot out, Gentry knows that what her son needs most is family. For his sake, she plans to rebuild bridges with them, but first she needs a little help on the home front.

Humanitarian worker Ian Crawford has devoted his life to service. Forced to temporarily return stateside, he’s eager to head back to Haiti to expand the nonprofit he just founded in his late father’s honor. He can’t do that without money, so when Gentry offers a hefty paycheck for a short-term gig as a live-in nanny, he can’t afford to say no. Ian expects to deal with a barrage of privileged problems. What he doesn’t expect is how quickly being a makeshift father transforms him.

Despite his growing attachment to Gentry and her child, Ian still has his dreams, and Gentry wants a full-time dad for her son. When the baby’s father reenters the picture, will Gentry and Ian embrace the family they’ve formed or end up worlds apart?

When You Knew

Excellent ending to this series! Gentry has had her baby and she is tired and overwhelmed and wow this baby is as willful as she is. That is not saying much since he is only a few weeks old and colicky but wow she needs help. That help comes in the form of Ian Campbell, the EMT humanitarian who helped at the time of her premature delivery and when she offers him a temporary nanny position she first feels like she is failing but then he makes her feel like she is winning. Too bad corporate world really is not for her and when she decides to find the baby's daddy and he is back in the picture will Ian really leave even though they truly have formed something special? Definitely read this series in order to get the full effect.

Had to stop!

I got to chapter 9 and couldn’t take anymore! Seriously both of the main characters, but especially Gentry, were just awful! I couldn’t stand her! She’s having these arguments with her parents and instead of sympathizing with her, I’m thinking, “yeah, you tell her mom and dad!” She whines and complains throughout and I just wanted to yell at her to grow up! Ian isn’t much better, but at least he shows some aspects of being a good person. Maybe I just need a book with a stronger female character cause this book didn’t do it for me at all! The narration was fine and I’d listen to a book from her again. I just don’t think the narrator had much to work with here. I’m so irked! I hate to stop in the middle and not finish a book!

It was okay.

If I hadn't of already read the first two books this book would have been boring. It had ALOT of repeating. If you've read the first two and want to know how it all ends then I'd recommend it.

Tiresome

This series was difficult to get through. I had to skip several chapters because it was the same depressing dysfunctional dribble over and over. Not even sure why I bothered with the third book after #2, which was the worst. I guess because it was easy to fall asleep to, knowing the same stuff would go on and on. It was on my Kindle Unlimited account just a waste of time sand not money. Not seeking any more books with the narrator or author.

Gentry???

I couldn’t finish this book. I couldn’t get past Gentry with her self importance, her spoiled, her me me me attitude. I’m sure in the end she got who & what she wanted, but didn’t deserve.

All changes in the long run.

Jamie Beck is one of the most eloquent of writers. Her stories have always got an underlying moral theme which is unmissable but in no way spoils the storyline. Her diction is educated and grammatically spot on. This is another highly listenable / readable tale and for a days enjoyable reading shouldn’t be missed . Not my normal genre but I cannot leave her books unread.
